What a bust

(1 out of 5) by Dianne L. Howard on May 25, 2008 (Newport News, Virginia)
This item is a bust for me. It doesn't work well with lots of furniture. It kept getting stuck in between the legs of the coffee table. Returned this item.

Forget High Pile Carpets

(3 out of 5) by Robert D. Miller on Apr 13, 2008 (ChicagoLand)
It's nice for under bed or under furniture, if it fits, so not to have to move of lift them. I like it for floors and it works great. Carpet cleaning only so so. Low pile fine, high pile no way. Sometimes heat vents in the floor cause it to stop for no apparent reason. If I were the manufacturer I'd add a bit more AI or verbal warnings saying it's stuck or battery getting low or getting near completion. In a few years, if still being made, I'd say improvements will be more fun to watch or listen to than actually doing what it was designed for. Would I get another one, yeah!

My Roomba was replaced three times

(2 out of 5) by Eng Prof on Aug 8, 2005 (Western Montana)
Just finished 18+ months of use with the Roomba/Roomba Pro, so here are my thoughts... Had three replacements, so the warrenty is good. But the warrenty period is up and I'm not about to buy another one. I really did like them and got lots of good use out of them. But iRobot doesn't listen to its customers. The basic problem that I had was caused by cheap Chinese construction; that is, the cheezy wooden steering wheel on the front of the Roomba was worn down all too quickly on our hard porcelain tiles. Most of the replacements wouldn't have been necessary if the steering wheel had been made of a space-age material that didn't wear so quickly. C'mon guys, how much would that have cost? Or how about a simple snap-in replacement wheel? This is really bad design, so I'll use this as an example of a poor application of a good idea for my engineering students.

Maybe I'll look at the Electrolux model, but for $1700 do you get decent construction materials?

I love it

(5 out of 5) by med buyer on Jun 14, 2005 (california)
I had this for about almost year and half. Just today, I got my third warranty replacement vacume. First two were acting funny after cleaning a very dusty rooms after construction. I think internal sensors got messed up with dusts. However, warranty service is fantastic. Each time, they send me a brand new machine. Customer service reps were very friendly and helpul.

After I got this, I rarely use my regular vacume. I just let it runs around the house. I have a rapid charger with extra batteries. So one runs out of battery, I just plug in a new battery. Major time saver.

Newest model is much quiter and has many improvements. I am hoping that it would be more durable. I won't let it vacume after the construction. It has a year warranty so as long as it breaks down before a year, I am ok. However, I would still buy one even after warranty. I love this machine.

Love it!

I love everything about this little dynamo because I hate everything about vacuuming! It's so cute, and even beeps when it is finished. I love how you can use the guides to keep it contained in one area. The only con is that it doesn't do windows! ;)
