Better than Expected
I have not had a good history with the past Zenith products that I have bought, but I thought I would give this tv a chance. I did, and I am thankful for it. The picture is very clear and the sound is wonderful. I have had it for a couple of months now, and have had no problems with it. I recommed it to anyone who is skeptical about buying it because of the brand.
Poor Durability
Great picture for daytime sports. Poor pixilation for night time movie scenes. Screen failed after 3 years of very light use with vertical black lines running from mid-screen to bottom that ruin the picture. Not recommended for durability reasons.

DO NOT BUY ZENITH !!
Prior to buying the TV we had a 27" CRT TV that lasted 19 years. So we decided to buy a new TV since it was getting old. So in 1/17/2004 we bought a 40" Projection TV with a 2 years extended warranty. The TV has been performing great and we have been very happy with it until just last week when we noticed "blue shadows" all over the screen.
After looking over the manual and adjusting the convergence, no success.
To fix this TV outside of its warranty will cost over $1,000 dollars, and with prices on TV's dropping it makes no sense to send it in for repair. It has basically become a disposable TV. We are very disappointed that our TV has only lasted 3 years. I'm sending it to Goodwill.
I'm very disappointed that Zenith will not stand behind their products. My only mistake was not researching Zenith TVs prior to buying since I had full faith in the brand.
I found other people on the internet with the same exact problem !!
I'm sorry to say this was my last Zenith TV.

Good Quality...Bad Brand
The reason I bought this TV is that I was moving into my apartment and my 1989 TV was breaking down. I had to take it to six repair shops just to see the picture. I gave that away and I knew that I had to go pricy and get a Plasma TV. I like very big TV's and I knew 60" was the way to go. Sony was the best brand of the choice but their's were for $19,999.99 which is $10,000.00 more than this Zenith. But when I went to Target and got this TV I was suprised that it had good picture quality. Zenith is a horrible brand but this TV they did a good job on. I got BOSE Speakers with it to really pump up the sound too. This is a wonderful TV but if you want a terrifically wonderful TV you have to get the Sony!

This TV is okay...
I bought this TV from a local electornics store with about the same price. HDTV gives great detail but its almost 2 big for its own good. Most television shows are show in widescreen so bars sit on the sides of your tv while you watch tv. It also has small speakers if you buy this you might need to get other speakers. But other then that is an excellent purchase. Its a little hard to set up but, once its up it good. This wont break down on you at all.
