This is a great mulyi-purpose knife
We have many of fine German knives in our kitchen but this one is our all time favorite. We grab this little gem any time we need a handy knife to do a quicky job. When you want to slice a few radiches for a salad, make a sandwich or whatever small job you have, this is the knife you will go to time and time again.
We also use our 8" Chef's knife when we are getting dinner ready, but a lot of times it is just too big for what you need. That's when this knife shines through.
And of course it's from Wusthof so you know it is the best.
We love it.

And it keeps on going!
I've had one of these knives since 1968! I've used it several times every week since buying it, have sharpened it many, many times on both a whetstone (with oil) and with a ChefsChoice. The tip is a little bent and worn, and there's a nick in the handle, but it still cuts like new. I would give up my three Cuisinart Food Processors before parting with this knife. It's an essential tool in my kitchen, and I expect to get another 30 years' use out of it.

Get them in Europe.
This is the best cooks knife bar none. Precision german engineering, shaped perfectly for safe, fast and easy chopping. It is sharp and stays sharp. It hefts a good weight to take the labour out of chopping.
If you happen to be in Europe and would like to treat your cooking friends, you can't bring back a better present. The price of these knives in Europe is much better than in the USA. Just remember not to carry it in your hand luggage!

Great knife for a small kitchen
I may as well admit that this knife entered my life after almost 30 years of cooking with a not-too-expensive 5 inch chef's knife from another (French) maker, which had a rather hard life during the kids' cooking lessons. I cook in a small kitchen and the 5 inch knife has always felt "right" for the size of my hands and the size of the meals I prepare, not to mention the size of my food prep space. I'm glad I finally found a top-notch knife to meet my needs--perfectly balanced, comfortable, razor sharp, and not too big. My other knife can finally retire.

Great knife, but dulls quickly.
This is a great knife (weight, balance, etc) but it seems to dull quickly despite the fact that it is rarely used on anything more than fruit and veggies. Don't buy it unless you are willing to invest in a sharpener to go with. The one on the back of our automatic can opener seems to work great. DO NOT use an automatic sharpener with this knife. Three to four strokes on a manual sharpener does a perfect job. An automatic will take too much metal off.
