Well pleased
I liked the fact that it is small but has good sound. I wish it had come with an AC adapter but I was lucky that I had one at home. It also runs on batteries, but I'm sure they would go quickly.

pretty good
It worked pretty well for my purpose---- its volume though depends on how loud your mp3 player can get, it's handy, and i love to use it with my mp3 player.

Just What I Wanted!
I needed a boom box for the car and work, but feared the battery consumption in the car would be too much. Thus, I decided to get the Panasonic SL-SV570 portable CD player and these speakers, which both use AA batteries. It's all working great, too! You use the volume control of the CD player to control the speaker volume, and it's loud enough for in the car. Since I'm a treble person, I don't miss the loud bass sound of a boom box. I also think a portable CD player will last longer than the CD player on a boom box, and plays CD-Rs better. And I can't imagine much going wrong with these speakers. I can just toss them in my carry-all with the CD player, and not have a lot of weight to lug around. Both the player and speakers are silver and blue, too--almost totally color coordinated!

Won't win any awards, just OK.
I just received the speakers. They are just OK. Very light and compact. They have an option to use un-powered but I could barely hear anything when they were connected to my laptop this way. I installed batteries and the volume is fine but they feed-back when the laptop volume is turned way up. The switch on the front looks like a volume control knob but it is not. There is no volume control. This is just an on-off switch. All in all for $22 they are OK. Kind of tinny sounding but not terrible. I am looking for a bit more depth of sound for my vacation in Mexico in Oct. 06. I will give this one to my friend for letting me park at his house :-).

Was not impressed
I needed a basic set of speakers for my office, and a portable set like this looked like a good choice. The reviews were very favorable as well, however I was no impressed. They are okay for low sound, however they cannot even achieve a moderately loud volume. They felt very cheap, and of course standard adapters will not work. I ended up selling them back through Amazon and took the loss. Hopefully their new owner will find them more useful.
