Horrible piece of junk - ZERO STARS!!!

(1 out of 5) by B Weg on Oct 11, 2009 (Missouri)
I have a scratched game that I tried to save. After 30 minutes of pure hell trying to use this piece of crap, I have given up on it.

The "handle" that you use to spin is .25" inches tall, meaning you can only grip it with your fingertips- it is excruciatingly painful to attempt to use. The handle pops below the spinning mechanism everytime I try to spin it, rendering it unusable. To add insult to injury, I can also see the DVD spinning around in the machine while I am trying to use it- only a small portion of it is being touched!

I have never written a bad review before. My experience with this was so horrible, I feel it is my duty to steer humanity away from it. This has forever ruined the Memorex brand for me. If they allowed this piece of junk out the door, I cannot trust them on anything else.

Works after multiple applications

When I first tried this on a DVD that was skipping a lot nothing noticeable happened. Second time, the DVD still skipped a lot. After the seventh time, the disk was skipping a lot less. Some scratches might have been too deep. So it will work, but it may take several applications for good results.

Works as advertised!

Had a Wii disk that kept locking up with an error message. Went through 2 application cycles, and the game loaded properly! Saved me from having to buy another copy of the Wii game.

Good if you like things that break in one day

(2 out of 5) by edward riddick on Nov 8, 2008 (usa, ny)
Ok other then what people are saying those circular things you call scratches are not scratches. it's excess cleaning solution which can be cleaned right off. the smaller scratches don't matter. no machine under a certain price removes scratches. just makes them smaller. your CD needs to be cleaned thoroughly. the real problem is. yes it can hurt your fingers. The knob tends to fall into the machine during turning(does not disconnect)then the pads just fall right off. returning this one tommorow. Your better off with the solution and a lint free cloth to take out the scratches with. it comes out allot better. Do not buy this.

Worked Great For Me!

(4 out of 5) by Arnold Shwartz on Jul 7, 2008 (Chicago)
Don't see why people are having problems with this. Here is what I did:

(Note: light blow or rinse disc under water to remove dust or debris before cleaning)

1) Put 4 drops of solution on it, applied with a Q-Tip.

2) Spin it around 15-20 times.

3) Rub off the excess stuff with the dab pad and some Kleenex tissue paper.

4) Pop it in the CD player and play it!

I tried this on a CD that had all types of scratches. It had deep and minor ones. Around the deep scratches, this thing was unnefective, which no machine can fix. It did great on the minor ones.

Also note that this machine doesn't remove them, it only fills them in. You can't even see the results because they are invisible to the eye.

This has worked for me so far. Hope it doesn't break.
