Service repair unsatisfactory

(1 out of 5) by D. Richardson on Mar 15, 2005 (glenford ohio)
I purchased this portable tv for a christmas present, after several attempts at different locations the reception is terrible. I sent it to casio for repair, they have had tv for over 4 weeks, and they are still waiting for repair parts.I have contacted them and they promice to update me with the progress but they do not. I have requested a new portable tv and they said they will repair this one. I should not have this tv in for repairs it is new.

I was quite pleased with the TV. I has been many years since I had my last portable TV which was black and white and had a 2" screen. The technology is much improved. Cascio is a leader in portable TV technology and I can see why. The only downfall is the need to buy an AC adaptor.

Leader in Portable TV's

(5 out of 5) by Breeze on Jun 19, 2006 (Jackson, MS)
Casio has been making these things, since 1986 !!!. 20 years later they still live up to their standard, though manufacturing has shifted to China, from Japan. I miss those "Made in Japan" Casio products, but isnt everything "Made in China" these days ? All said and done, you cant expect a HD quality 5.1 surround sound from this $120 buck portable TV. So enjoy the mobility(thats the whole point) and coming from Casio, its the best !

The Best Portable TV currently available at market !!!

(4 out of 5) by P.S. on Dec 15, 2004 (IA, USA)
Strengths: Huge 4" screen with great picture quality! Catches about 15 channels in Denver; Uses 4 AA batteries, which are widely available; Comes with desktop stand; Good sound for a little speaker!

Weaknesses: Expensive price, under $200; Desktop stand is a low quality; Headphones' jack gives only MONO sound not stereo!; By specifications work only with NTSC (USA/Canada) TV signal. Why?! :(

Conclusion: For this price Casio could do a better job but I still think it is the best portable TV available right now! Quality of picture is very good, especially with big 4-inches screen! But Casio could put some transparent, plastic cover to protect LCD screen like Sony does for some of its digital cameras.

Optional Casio AC adaptor ADK64B will cost you extra $16-20. Why AC adapter does not come for free, tv costs under $200?!
Battery life is OK, haven't tested fully though. I suggest you to buy a 1-hour or faster AA charger with 8 rechargeable batteries, you will need them.

At Walmart I bought CD player case made by MAINSTAYS for about $5, which perfectly fits this TV!

TV won't work outside of US or Canada because it has NTSC tv tuner. Overall I'm satisfied with it but would prefer it working worldwide not only with NTSC signals. Thanks for attention and hope this helps.
