sylvania dvc850c dvd/vcr
This unit stopped working about four months after I purchased it. The labor warranty ran out after 90 days. A real piece of junk.

great buy
This is a great deal for only 99$. I bought the same piece from best buy for 150$. I currently use it in my dorm room and its great. It is easy to use with all the controls located on the remote. A steal.

don't pay more than $50
I bought two of these in November of 2002. The power went out on the first one in june of 2003. The power went out on the second one today 2 Feb. I am single and live alone and work 12-16 hours. I do not watch enough tapes/dvds to have the power go out. They did not last a year and a half. shop around on some of the reviews before purchasing.

Piece of junk
This review was written after i used the product for couple of days.
First the drawbacks.
1) Clumsy scattered Remote control.
2) There is easily more room for picture quality. Right now picture is not bad, its ok.
3)Probably there is no way to record a DVD to VCR. A must feature.
But at this price i don't really care.
1) Its easy to setup.
2) And in all respect it would easily compete with more costlier version in the market
I change my stand:
Three words: piece of junk

This Unit Keeps VHS in Business
It's a good thing that the Sylvania DVC850C has a built in VHS player since you will need it when after three months both the DVD player and warranty expire.
