I bought this item for my son and was rather pleased with it. I was surprised that Timex hasn't sold this radio on its audio merits which are actually pretty good with stations broadcasting a stronger FM signal. The tuner is still only analog and therefore subject to drift, but the mono speaker sounds surprisingly good. If this radio had a PLL tuner it would merit a four star (or perhaps more) rating. The clock features are adequate and what one would expect from Timex. (the Former Waterbury Clock Co.) It is not a Boston Acoustics Receptor, however, considering the price, its a good buy

Ok, my intial take on this was nice looking, dual alarms, great deal. I was wrong! Don't be misled, this may have dual alarms but one is for the radio and the second alarm is a buzzer. Why would Timex possibly create an alarm clock where both alarms couldn't be radio alarms? I hate waking up to that annoying buzzer sound but now between my wife and I, one of us has to. Second, the viewing angle is poor, it's hard to see the minute digit if the clock is facing slightly away from you. The screen is recessed into the clock so the side of the screen blocks your view of the time. Third, the date is so large on the screen it is almost confusing because it's right up agains the time. I know that's being picky, but figured I'd mention it.

I bought this unit and had to return it because the radio always had a slight buzz to it. I attribute that to the analog nature of the tuner. The radio which replaced it had a digital tuner and there is no buzz whatsoever.

The one I bought does not work. The alarm feature only accepts one setting, even though I followed the instructions precisely. The AM reception is awful, nothing but whistles. The display is nice. I will not buy Timex again, they need to stick to watches.

It has some down sides as you would read from the other comments but Timex is the only brand I have found that you can set up to alarm only in weekdays. The radio may be poor but I would rather prefer poor radio than waking up 7 am on saturday or not waking up at 7 am on monday. You don't have to worry about whether you turn the alarm off on fridays and turn it back on sundays.
