I bought this product because it had been very highly rated. However, I quickly realized that with windows xp the installation would not be simple. After going through a long process to get this thing installed, I was given the worst quality video I have ever seen in my life. The quality is so poor that it is unwatchable, even from a distance. The only reason that I even give this product two stars is because the TV Listings function is very nice and makes recording simple. Unfortunately I have never wanted to record anything because who wants to record something that they can't even watch?

First of all I'd like to start by saying that the installation is a bit annoying, but once you get it installed its pretty decent. David Elliot, have you tried going to the settings and changing the quality? I originally thought that the quality was bad but then I changed the setttings to "DVD" which makes it alot better. I couldn't get the TV Listings thing to work, but I ran the cable from the wall and through my vcr and a splitter so maybe one of those is making it unable to get listings. The PVR is really the only reason i need this and it works pretty well. I don't really use it to record TV anymore because I moved it to a different location from where the cable was. Now I just use it to record things from my vcr and camcorder. Take note that if you're planning to hook up with the red yellow and white cables, it only has a yellow one so you're only getting video. You can fix this by either taking an adapter plugging in the red and white cables and plugging this in to your line-in port (that's what I usually do). Or you can get an RF adaptor and plug it into the thing where you normally plug in TV. Overall, this product is helpful to me. There's probably better TV tuner cards out there, but this one works fine for me.
