(5 out of 5) by HHlistener on Jan 24, 2008 (CA)I purchase the Velodyne VX-10 from Sixth Ave. The vendor shipped fast and the heavy unit arrived with no damage. A major consideration of mine was the auto on/off feature of this unit because (call me crazy) my intention was to place this subwoofer on the very top of the entertainment center cabinet to save space. I made the mistake of following the connection diagram without reading the installation section first, which (I later realized) warns the owner not to use both LINE LEVEL and SPEAKER LEVEL connections simultaneously. Because my front speakers are small bookshelf speakers, setting the crossover and the volume knobs both to 1 O'clock position works better for me. Overall, this unit offers both value and non-boomy clean punch.
What a hoss
(5 out of 5) by L. Sandro on Jan 1, 2008Delivery was superfast--ordered dec 21, received dec 23. Had read lots of reviews and this seems to be the one for under 200 that gets it done. Beautiful, floor-shaking bass without overpowering the rest of the system, and hidden behind the couch so as not to irritate my wife--everybody wins. Sounded so good I had to upgrade my tv--watching a 27"crt with home theatre sound just wasn't going to cut it.

After researching on Amazon and other places, I chose the Velodyne VX-10. I have not been disappointed. Set up and operation of the subwoofer was very easy. The subwoofer has really enhanced my system.

I love the LED Light and the Variable crossover.
I have the setting on around 85Hz and all speakers set to "SMALL" even the towers!
I watched "Monster House" and I couldnt believe the lows that were coming out of this sub, my whole room shook! I also tested with alot of action movies and all sounded excellent, this sub is an upgrade from my Sony SA-WM200 sub...big difference, but great price you wont be dissappointed!
