Great subwoofer, great value!

(5 out of 5) by Jaguar on Jan 27, 2008 (NJ USA)
Add me as another happy owner of this great subwoofer. Based on the positive reviews here, I purchased this VX-10.

At the beginning, the sound was deep but not loud, even the volume on the subwoofer was turned to max. I did a lot of research, found it was my receiver. I have a pioneer 7.1 receiver, by default the subwoofer lever was set to -2.0db. After it's changed to 3.0db, it worked great! I have a THX bass mp3 file, even at a very low volume, it shakes the house!

Now I started re-watching my DVD collections. The bass is tight and clean with great punch!

The VX-10 feels heavy but doesn't take much space, my friend even asked if it's 8 inch, :-).

Bang for the "Buck"!

(5 out of 5) by V. Luu on Nov 5, 2007
Bought this for my home theater in the basement. Needed something to fill the missing bass sound. I ran 7 speakers (7.1) with my Denon receiver and Polk Audio (in-wall/ceiling speakers). Bass is strong and is plenty for my basement. Does require some volume adjusting from audio listening and movie home theater, but that's expected. For under $200, it's the best subwoofer in this price range...it's a winner. Highly recommend and best bang for the buck!

Bad@SS Little Woofer!!

(5 out of 5) by G. I. Opruta on Aug 26, 2009 (Slo Cal, USA)
Bought this little guy with an employee discount @ "Lie's" Electronics over 3 years ago. Paired with a Denon AV unit, has been set up in a few different enviroments, always isolated from the ground and placed in multiple locations until optimum sound was achieved. I thought the 100w was going to be lacking, but I'm looking for a quality "punchy" type of bass, not some numbnut driving down the street, bumping whatever eMpTyV's serving to the masses, rattling every panel on the car in order to get peoples attention...

Have not had a single complaint from the neighbors downstairs, while watching films at fairly high volume... Thing still rumbles whole living room in action sequences, with about 18' high ceilings & hardwood floors. This thing has not let me down yet in 3+ years, and I've recommended this sub to lots of people over the years. Can't beat the bang for your buck!!!(Especially in my case, as I got it for under $100,lol!!)

sub-sonic

One of the best bang-for-buck subwoofers on the market. Good tight bass, solid build and quality craftsmanship make this deal an easy purchase. I have 2 and recommend it for small to medium home theaters with no hesitation....
