ok, but beware

(3 out of 5) by Nanny Groskopf on Oct 25, 2009 (Florida, USA)
The lights indicating how far and intense was the radar went off a couple of months after buying it. My husband and I already have a ticket because it did not alert about the radar. (I had a ticket for 6 miles over the speed limit) We live in North Florida = State police = squeeze all the money you can from the people. Spend a little bit more and buy a better one.

Good

This was my first radar detector and I have really enjoyed it. Usually the cops have their radars on while driving so it's easy to know they are near you... I don't speed, I just hate people who go slow.

Best radar detector I ever owned

(5 out of 5) by Walter F. Kailey on May 21, 2007 (Denver, Colorado USA)
This unit is signficantly cheaper than the ticket I got right before I bought it. I did not use my old radar detector except on the highway, because there were so many false alarms in the city, it was just an annoyance, besides which, without voice alerts, you never knew what the odd boops and beeps meant. This unit solves all of those problems. Even on City 2 mode, you get false alarms in K band, but they are always in the same places around time, and they are brief and not annoying. You come to know where they are and filter them out with your brain. When the unit goes off in one of those speed traps you always drive through in major metropolitan areas, it reminds you instantly to slow down, and this is invaluabe. It will easily pay for itself in two years of use (that's about how often I get a ticket with my driving habits). If you get as many tickets as I do (or more), you need one of these.

Whistler 1753

(5 out of 5) by Neil A. Ternet on May 21, 2007
Great product for the price. I live in flat open country so it is easy to drive way too fast. This thing sniffs out radar with plenty of time to slow down. No need to spend big money for Escort or Passport.

Cops have no chance

This instrument picks up all kinds radar/laser. Takes a while getting used to it but it works.

Saved me once already with seconds to spare.
