whistler radar detector
I find this to be somewhat of a toy so far. I have not yet run into a ticket/radar situation. I received a $200+ ticket prior to purchase and figured this whistler cost less than half that - couldn't hurt to have. It does go off sometimes by automatic doors but I don't usually use the city filters. I did some research on reviews and this is a good model. Only prob I have is that, since it needs to plug in to my lighter, I cannot shut my ashtray. I kind of like the bells and whistles. JW.
ok, but beware
The lights indicating how far and intense was the radar went off a couple of months after buying it. My husband and I already have a ticket because it did not alert about the radar. (I had a ticket for 6 miles over the speed limit) We live in North Florida = State police = squeeze all the money you can from the people. Spend a little bit more and buy a better one.
Cops have no chance
This instrument picks up all kinds radar/laser. Takes a while getting used to it but it works.
Saved me once already with seconds to spare.

Works
This products works great. I used it for a long trip and it saved me when I needed it to. My wife thinks the talking is very annoying but it has a selection that it doesn't do it everytime you start up. The VG-2 setting is nice in some states but it doesn't come set on straight out of the box. Once you turn it on once it does work. I had the emergency vehicle signal work in Florida. Overall it works great.
Decent radar detector
This detector has not failed me yet. I do hesitate to push it more than 15 miles per hour above the speed limit, so I am wishing at times I had spent more on a better detector.
