Best radar detector I ever owned

(5 out of 5) by Walter F. Kailey on May 21, 2007 (Denver, Colorado USA)
This unit is signficantly cheaper than the ticket I got right before I bought it. I did not use my old radar detector except on the highway, because there were so many false alarms in the city, it was just an annoyance, besides which, without voice alerts, you never knew what the odd boops and beeps meant. This unit solves all of those problems. Even on City 2 mode, you get false alarms in K band, but they are always in the same places around time, and they are brief and not annoying. You come to know where they are and filter them out with your brain. When the unit goes off in one of those speed traps you always drive through in major metropolitan areas, it reminds you instantly to slow down, and this is invaluabe. It will easily pay for itself in two years of use (that's about how often I get a ticket with my driving habits). If you get as many tickets as I do (or more), you need one of these.

Good

(5 out of 5) by D. Maret on May 24, 2007
This was my first radar detector and I have really enjoyed it. Usually the cops have their radars on while driving so it's easy to know they are near you... I don't speed, I just hate people who go slow.

Whistler 1753

(5 out of 5) by Neil A. Ternet on May 21, 2007
Great product for the price. I live in flat open country so it is easy to drive way too fast. This thing sniffs out radar with plenty of time to slow down. No need to spend big money for Escort or Passport.

Liked it so much I bought another

(5 out of 5) by B. Gill on May 8, 2007 (West Virginia, USA)
Read alot of the reviews on this one and have to agree that this is a great detector at half the price as other brands. Recently took a trip to TN and averaged 90-110 mph... I mean 65mph, lol .... all the way. It caught all the traps along the way and with the VGR turned on it also detected police that were using the on/off method on cars using radar. It's easy to use, loud enough to get your attention and the voice feature helps you tell what band it's detecting. All the features can be turned on or off. I'm so pleased with the performance of this product that I'm now ordering a second for my other car.

Love it!

(5 out of 5) by Jennifer Cooper on Mar 8, 2007
I have not had one problem with this radar detector. I love that it has 3 different settings as to how bright/dim the light is on the detector. Bright, dim, and none at all.

I also love the fact that so far, it hasn't failed me...which is very important!

I give it 2 thumbs up!
