It saved me once in the first two months

(5 out of 5) by Julian Echecopar on Jun 11, 2006 (Miami Beach, FL USA)
Pros: I installed it on the windshield and there is not cable! Alarm is audible enough even when I am listening to music at high volume. Mute button is very handy specilly when you are talking with the phone. Battery lasted more than a month! and I use my car every day.

Cons: given that it is battery powered, I preffer to turn it off/on when I am out/in the car. I use the automatic on/off feature only as a back up in case I forget to turn it off. I receive some warnings that seems are not accurate. It shoould have a better way to show if it is on or off.

Bottom line: It is a great device and it already saved me once (that I know of) in two months using it. If you want to connect it to the power (and not use bateries), you can try to install it in the top of the windshield and run the power cable inside the roof.

Great product, needs better window suction cup system

(4 out of 5) by Jeffery Braun on Sep 24, 2009
This detector does everything a good portable one should. The battery life is great. I travel at least 3 times a month and pull this and my GPS out first thing when I hit the rental car lot. I have not put a battery in this detector in 3 months. It is good at detecting radar and has saved me a few times from sure tickets. There is only one thing it needs is a better suction cup system. My GPS has a real suction cup mount that sticks, this one falls off all the time, and if you get them just slightly bent in your suit case they will not stick. It would be a solid 5 star with a better suction cup mount. Still it is the best travel detector out there.

Expensive with below average performance

(2 out of 5) by Scott M. Mcmaster on Sep 15, 2009 (South Beach Fla)
I bought this for use with my car and motorcycle so needed a battery version. In the motorcycle it fits in a pocket and uses an earphone and can't get laser but all cruisers use radar here (Ontario) and stationary laser has no real defense.

I find that even on the highway I am seeing the cruiser often well before I get a signal - car or bike. I think they are using a very weak RF signal but even if they do the product should adjust or stop making claims.

Escort Solo S2

(5 out of 5) by Kenneth L. Hawkins on Aug 26, 2009 (Covina CA USA)
Received the product in a timely manner it was easily installed and paid off immediatley. Picked up a radar trap quickly and gave me time to slow down in a rapidly decreasing speeds in short distance. It paid for itself the first time out. I have had no problem with the windshield mount, I have used it in my car and truck with no problems.

Excellent... Few Issues...

(4 out of 5) by Justin Cooper on Sep 2, 2008 (Ocala, FL)
I purchased this Radar Detector to travel from Colorado to Florida. I drive a WS6 and get on it through some open straights. I felt very comfortable using this radar detector. I was kind of worried that I wasnt picking up any signals all the way into Texas but when I did I was glad I had this detector. It let me know I was getting hit with Laser about a mile and a half out. The only issue I had was when I did get pulled over in Texas and I didnt receive any warning from the detector. I had no reason why either.. I could see the cop 1/4 mile away and I was the only one on the road and the only reason I got pulled over was because while I was reading the map, I didnt notice the speed change. The cop was really friendly however and even gave me directions. Overal a very good cordless detector, with a small hiccup as to why I wasnt allerted that one time.
