This is a great detector as long as it's working, however, the tiny suction cups that come equiped are not adequate to hold the detector and after it falls (which it will) a couple of times it stops working. This one lasted me six months. Why not equip with a suction cup similar to a GPS device?

I own several Passports and recently bought the Solo. Fortunately, I am within the return period for exchanges. I am going to get another Passport. The range is good compared to most radar detectors, but abysmal when compared to a Passport with a cord.

A friend said this is the right radar detector, and he was right. Drove from Chicago to Montana and back and was always informed of active radar sources along the way. Was surprised when it picked up roadside speed warning sign, but that should have been expected. Batteries still going after six full days of driving over 10 hours a day.

This unit works well for a cordless model. It does not do as good as some of my corded radar detectors from Escort but cordless never does. If you have to get a cordless radar detector this is the best one out there.

I have owned 2 escort solo S2's one for my Z06 and one for my truck. they have saved me at least 100 tickets. I do go through some batteries but the convience and ease of use more than makes up for that. I will never use a corded model. I have not gotten 1 ticket since I started using it. I average 80 to 90 mph and drive 30,000 miles a year. I have gotten signals from over a mile away plenty of time to slow down.
