Panasonic DVDs seem to suffer early burnout

I was happy with this for about 8 months, then it stopped working. On searching the web, I found that the dreaded code H07 is an all too common symptom of failure of various Panasonic DVDs, and that it costs as much to repair it is to buy a new system. Nevermore!
