Great sound that surrounds the room.

(5 out of 5) by Charles R. Sharbel on May 13, 2007 (Nashville, TN United States)
Best radio I've ever owned. Fantastic sound. Got it for an alarm clock and to just listen to while working in the bedroom at home. The sound literally surrounds you in the room. Has two separate alarms which is really handy for the wife and I.

re: Great sound for the price

Pros: Attractive design, digital front panel displays information about the station you are listening too (if that station is setup for it); full controls both on the radio and the remote; sounds is extremely good for the price; full set of inputs and outputs (add a computer CD or any other CD Player; add headphones;) built in POWERED sub-woofer handles bass well for a unit this size; front input is nice for a quick temporary setup; as well as front jack output for headphones; GREAT "BANG" FOR THE BUCKS

Cons: AM reception with this unit (like the previous model Kloss 88; is not stong). If you have problem with AM reception from your current unit; this will not give much relief - even with the external antenna. Thought most of my listening is FM, I do sometimes get news form the AM band. Without this drawback, this unit would have been given a 5 star rating.

Item Returned

Guess I was shipped a defective unit.
Have arranged a return/swap with retailer J&R music.
Hopefully, the swapped unit will work better.

Better than average

(3 out of 5) by Eduardo David Serrano on Aug 10, 2006
It's a good sounding radio, specially with a CD or DVd player connected to the aux input.
The sound is bright and dynamic, but not as elegant and detailed as in the Bose Wave Radio.
It seems to have a considerable amount of "pleasant" distortion, while the Bose is pure and cristalline as water.
If you do not have "audiophile ears", you will like this radio.
If you have ever heard hi-end audio equipment, this radio is like a very good Sony product, while the Bose is like a ... well ... a Bose. Period.
