Almost a great product...

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 30, 2003
The sample Memorex printable CD-R that came with the Epson 900 printer worked great but then I bought the 30-pack -- only to find out that Memorex brands each disk around the center with the Memorex logo and the text "PRINTABLE CD-R 700MB 48x". For me that completely defeats the purpose! -- I want it too look like it came from a CD print house, not some hacker's basement. The branding totally stands out too, black on a white background that could easily not jive with your artwork. I was really disappointed. Other than that the printable CD-R technology is really great.

Hadn't even noticed the logo

(4 out of 5) by W. Warren on Mar 13, 2007
I've run through 25 of a 30 pack and hadn't even noticed the printing around the hub before reading these reviews. The lettering on mine appears to be light blue or grey and is faint, but is visible when you're looking for it. If you'll have printing there, I don't think its an issue, but if your background is mostly white, its a good thing to keep in mind with this brand. You can see what the labeling looks like on the photos I've uploaded.

Update (12/04/07): A recent repurchase of this, not from Amazon, yielded a different type of disc. The white coating was rough, and there was much more prominent printing on the white surface near the center. I returned those and ordered the 100 pack of this product from Amazon and got what I wanted; a slick white surface with barely visible labeling. I'm not sure if the bad ones were old stock, but ordering this product may be a crap-shoot in the future.

Outstanding CD-R printable discs!!!

(5 out of 5) by D. Fleming on Oct 7, 2004
I have been using the Memorex printable CD-Rs for over a year now, and they work perfectly. Printing on them is easy with my Epson CD printer, and the ink sticks good and dries fast. I have not had any problems with smearing ink after it has dried.
As far as the 'memorex log' brand on each CD, I really don't care. I'm not looking to make discs that look like they came from a print house, and it really isn't a big deal when you have a printed logo on the disc. (If you don't like this, then buy something else).
If you want a good realiable CD-R, I've used hundreds of the Memorex discs without any problems!

Make great coasters for mac users

(1 out of 5) by JLP on May 27, 2009 (Seattle, WA United States)
does not work with the macbook pro or imac. tried 28 discs from 2 different packages bought months apart, with different burning programs on the two different machines- no go on a single disc. they are garbage if you are a mac user. try verbatim or taiyo yuden instead.
