Good Buy, Clean Signal

(4 out of 5) by Great Movie Addict on Apr 12, 2007 (New York City)
This model replaced my Monster 2GHz splitter, which cost twice the price, and my cable company's cheapo 3-way. As soon as I connected the AR, I noted the same sharpness I saw with the Monster, but color was cleaner and there seems to be less digital noise coming from my cable box; shadow areas and dimly sighted scenes in cable broadcasts look as if the lower light levels are more dimensional and clear. Would you believe there are so-called "studio-grade" splitters that sell for up to $150 ?!? AR is a fraction of that, and half the price of its competition -- but if it works, it works. Recommended.

Works well

(5 out of 5) by A. Annes on Oct 18, 2006
Where the cable comes into my house the splitters from the cable co. were 900mhz and I thought I would give it a try to see what a 2ghz would do since my cable modem keeps having a signal loss.

I am satisfied with this item. It has cleared up my channels and increased my download speeds as well as no dropped connections. I tried the monster 2ghz 2 splitter and was satisfied with the picture qaulity but the download speeds were half of the acoustic research.

Works great!

(5 out of 5) by Senor Zoidbergo on Apr 7, 2008 (Washington D.C.)
Two of the cheapo splitters from my cable provider suddenly stopped working, so I decided it was time to get something a little better. The splitter by Acoustic Research was comfortable for my wallet too, being much cheaper than the similar Monster cables.

The video appears to be much sharper with the AR splitter, especially on the high definition channels. Or perhaps it's the placebo affect. But it fixed the problem, and now I have a strong signal going to both my TV and modem.

It's worth it to splurge a little on this handy device.

Works on Cablevision IO

I used this to split the TV side of my Cablevision IO service. I have this working with 2 HD sets and 1 analog set.

AR cable splitter

(5 out of 5) by Big Pine Key on Feb 27, 2008 (Florida Keys, USA)
The product arrived on time and was a full retail package. Installation was easy. I had a cable company tech out because of some other issues and he tested the signal strength on the input and output lines. The signal levels were correct. The product works as advertised.
