Don't trust other reviews below!
2.5 hours is a fast recharge. Ok, we all know that NiMH batteries need to be completely charged and used a couple of times before they perform their best potential. They need to be charged *before* you use them for the first time, and they lose their charge if they sit around for a long time, esp. in cold places - don't store them in the fridge! Also, the CRV3 (non-recharge) lasts almost twice as long as the NiMH. Having said that, I really think this kit is an excellent value. The recharger is compact, the case is sleek, and the price is right. GET THIS KIT if you own a CoolPix 2100. There is nothing wrong with the NiMH battery here. If you used some other battery that happened to leak and wreck your camera, your warranty will not cover the damage! The Nikon guys will laugh and tell you to go take a hike.

Doesn't maintain charge
While I haven't had the bad luck of less than ten shots per charge, I do find that I am charging after 20, give or take a few depending of the use of red-eye reduction, etc... I do wish I had researched the battery issue a bit more before purchasing these. I know the first set I had, which were lithium, lasted a LOT longer and I was surprised at the life of them.
My advice, read a few of the reviews before you buy. And don't expect these to be long life batteries.

Spend your money elsewhere
Both the case and the batteries are functional, but I'd recommend spending a little more money on a case of better quality and some CRV3 batteries.
The neoprene case is good if you want to carry your camera around in your purse because its not bulky, but its not a good idea to use this case regularly as it doesn't offer much padding. Also, what's on the inside holding the Nikon logo on scratches the camera.
The batteries are okay for back up, but definitely don't expect to go on a day excursion or even a birthday dinner with them. They work okay for about 15 minutes, and then the camera starts to really slow down (i.e. the picture is taken a full 4 or 5 seconds after hitting the shutter button, and then it takes another 15 seconds or so to save the picture to memory). After about an average of 2 hours the batteries are pretty much done.

Poor batteries
I fully charged my NIMH batteries like instructed the first time and have only had the worst results from these batteries! Somewhere between 10-15 pictures is the batteries life

I don't get it?
I don't understand why everyone keeps saying that it's only a few flash pictures with this battery set, perhaps they didn't charge the batteries fully first because according to my picture labeler I've taken over 100 flash pictures on one charge. The case is kind of handy, especially with the little pouch for an extra CF card. I definately consider this accessory kit a must have, along with another higher capacity CF card. I keep a spare CRV3 lithium battery with me in case I run out of power, but so far I haven't needed it yet.
