Great sound for a low price.
I also have known of Apex's good reputation. That's why when I discovered this home theater system, I couldn't pass it up. It's well worth what you pay. The sound quality is excellent. Although 150 watts may not seem like much, it is more than enough to make the walls in my living room rattle when turned up halfway. I was also impressed with the quality of the DVD player. The AFF feature is a nice touch but stretches some movies out of proportion, which may not bother some people, but it sure did bug me. Luckily you can turn it on or off with one-button.
Unfortunately, I have to agree with the previous reviewers who said there is no 5.1 support for input devices. I was disheartened when I tried plugging in my XBox only to find sound output was analog and only came from 3 of the 5 speakers. For the price, though, I can't complain too much. The Apex HT-150 is a terrific budget home theater system that perfectly complements a small living room or dorm room.

So Glad I Bought It!
This system is one of the best electronic accessories I have ever bought for myself! It hooked right up with my television (in response to the "cheap is not always good" review- maybe you're just stupid), and made a fine addition to my home. Definitely worth the money and then some!

Its a nice little system, and good value for the dollar
I have been spoiled all my life with my parents THX home theater systems and digital projectors, and when I moved out, although I diddn't have enough money to afford $10,000 worth of equipment I still wanted a home theater setup. This Apex unit caught my eye because of its feature set and low price - I wasn't expecting much. Suprisingly enough, this little puppy really performs! Thats not to say that its a substitute for a full on home theater setup, but if you are on a tight budget and still want to watch your movies in 5.1 this is the way to go.

Excellent system for $100
You won't be able to do much better than this unless you spend close to $200.
PROS:
- The system does an excellent job with Dolby Digital and DTS on DVD's.
- The DVD player plays just about anything
- You can play MP3's from a DVD-R
- Although the Aux input only uses 2 channels + the subwoofer, it sounds great.
CONS:
- No Dolby on the auxilliary input (so TV broadcasts and VCR tapes coming through on Aux input will only use 2 channels).
- No SVideo input (I still have to use my switch box since I use my PS2 with SVideo).
- CD / MP3 playback tries to emulate Dolby, and doesn't always sound that good (because of this, I'm still using my old CD changer on the aux input, which sounds awesome on the system, but it would be nice to hear it on the rear channels too).
Still, you wouldn't get the features I'm complaining about on any other system in this price range!

This is a great little system. The 150 Watts is definitely loud enough for me. I got it for $89 at Meijer. Cant go Wrong at this price although I am considering a powered subwoofer for really deep Bass.

Nice Fullscreen Feature
Nice Clean Sound
Easy Set up
Cons
Not the deep bass I want
No AM/FM Tuner
