A month or so back, I came upon a substancial amount of money. Being a teenaged computer junkie, the first thing I searched for was obvious, the BEST computer speakers available on the market.. I have turned these up the maximum volume once, there was no distortion, or fuzz.. Excellent controls on the speakers, loud enough that I don't dare go past the half volume mark for fear of losing my hearing.. Only downside to these (besides the price ... ) is that they require speaker wire to connect them up, which is not included with the product.

I've turned to the digital age and run my home audio system through my digital (mp3) music library through a high quality soundcard. I wanted a 2.0 or 2.1 speaker system that would give me outstanding audio quality without breaking the bank. These speakers are INCREDIBLE. I've been a loyal fan of Cambridge Soundworks ever since I purchased the original Soundworks 2.1 speaker system 10 years ago. Since then I've owned the Microworks, Megaworks 210, and now this.
Music is transparent and all details are heard with no loss of midrange frequencies. Bass is full (but not overpowering). Outstanding for both classical and rock music! These speakers will fill a medium sized room. If you need speakers for your small office/bedroom, don't get these.
I have two gripes. The first is that there is only one input option (mini 1/8" plug). I wish I could use standard RCA input plugs or balanced plugs since I have a high quality soundcard. The second is that there is no crossover control for the subwoofer. Hopefully, CSW has tuned this baby to cross over at the optimum frequency when mated with the Newton 300 satellites. I would like to have a little more control over this issue.

This will be the best sounding pair of 2.1 speakers in the world. Until they inevitably fail after 1-2 years. Trust and act on the reviews posted all over the internet regarding these speakers' unreliably. Even after reading such reviews, I purchased a set about 1.5 years ago. They broke last week (broke: scratchy, distorted sound from tweeters and midrange drivers). What a waste of money and effort.
