Elgin travel alarm

(2 out of 5) by Jeffrey E. Wohlrab on May 17, 2009
I had an Elgin that I bought at a military exchange in Germany back in '05. I really loved that alarm, but misplaced it sometime between then and now. I bought this, hoping that it would be comparable. It's larger than the old one and the light absolutely doesn't work. It was broken out of the plastic. I'm going to attempt to exchange it for another in hopes that will be better. Based on the other reviews this is just an anomaly, but I wanted to add info to help others make a decision.

Timex Digital Travel Alarm Clock with Indiglo night light.

(5 out of 5) by J. C. Sterne on Apr 28, 2008 (Arllington, VA)
I ordered this clock for myself as a replacement. I gave mine to my niece as a gift with other travel inspired
items, but only after I confirmed that I coud purchase another one on Amazon. I love it. I use it every day
and night both at home and on trips. It is lightweight, accurate and easy to see. And when you wake up in the middle of the night and want to know the time, the INDIGLO feature on the Timex is terrific. No need to turn on a light. The Timex requires one AAA battery. The battery should last a long time and is easily
accessible for replacement. The Timex base folds over the screen and is perfect for travel. I not only would
order the Timex Indiglo Travel Alarm again, I already have.

A total waste of money for me

(1 out of 5) by Megan on Nov 12, 2009
Who cares about what it looks like, the whole purpose of an alarm clock is to make sure you wake up on time. This alarm isn't loud enough for heavy sleepers like me. I tried using this a couple of times and both times I ended up not hearing it, overslept, and was late for my college class. Which, btw, seriously ticked me off. I bought it because another reviewer had said the alarm was loud...sorry, but it's not.

It now sits unused in my desk drawer. Total waste of money.

Elgin travel alarm clock

This is a nice little alarm clock. The button to set the time and alarm could be a little bigger.

Poor quality control

(3 out of 5) by K. Schomacker on Jun 18, 2009
I was a bit disappointed with the company's quality control. I brought two clocks and the alarm on one did not work. Plus the spring on the snooze/light button was a bit soft compared to the first. Rather than return the defective product, I opened it up and found a broken black speaker wire and one of the two compression spring for the snooze button floating around inside. After resoldering the black wire and reassembling correctly, the product works as good as the first.

Overall, once fixed, I am happy with this product. As a travel alarm clock, it has all the features that I need. The progressive alarm is a nice touch.
