When it is right, it is very right...

Let's face it. This lovely paper is not suitable for every image, or every kind of image. But if you like to work creatively, it is a very nice paper to have on hand. When you find the right image for it, I think you'll know before you ever hit print.

Great paper at a good price

If you are looking for a good photo paper that will give your images an almost watercolor like result this is it. Combined with Photoshop the results have a soft muted effect that works well with color, sepia or black and white.

Epson Velvet Paper

(4 out of 5) by Mark Twain on Feb 1, 2009
It is great paper. The instructions say to print on the whitest side. It is very hard for someone with limited vision like me to tell which side is the whitest. Of course I printed my first picture on the wrong side. It was not very good. I turned the paper over and printed it again with spectacular results. E pson should mark the back of the paper.

good paper but

(3 out of 5) by John Roberts on Dec 30, 2008 (Omaha, NE)
This is a nice paper, as pretty much all epson papers are. However I found this paper to overly textured and didn't seem to accept the ink from a 1280 very well. Because the over texture it seemed to make the images look unsharp. Also for the price I'd say that it's not worth the amount.
If you looking for a great paper with some nice texture the Epson watercolor paper is better I find.

Nice Look, Softer Finish

(5 out of 5) by Montana Ro on Jan 14, 2008 (NW Montana)
This paper produces prints that are not quite as sharp as you would get with premium glossy paper, or even matte photo paper, but it's a very nice look. I'm an artist who works a lot with charcoal and colored chalk pencils, so for me, these prints look like the product of someone who just completed a KILLER piece of art!
On other Epson papers, my Epson R320 usually prints everything a tiny bit darker than what my screen shows in photoshop, so I always have to lighten my photos a little more than normal in order to get a perfect print. Not so with this paper. The colors and intensity are right on! I've mostly printed nature photos and pet photos with this paper, and I am extremely happy with both!
