Amazing- Best Random Purchase I've made in a while

(5 out of 5) by Ajay S Kori on Jun 13, 2003 (Durham, NC United States)
Face it, you're probably staring at this thing thinking- what the....
That's how I stumbled upon this piece of furniture, looking for computer speakers and randomly taken to the pyramat item. After reading the near perfect reviews, I decided to splurge a little (it was the end of the exam period- i deserved a toy). This thing is pretty amazing. Here's why if you have the money to buy this, you should:
1) Comfort: this thing is better than most pieces of funtiture in your house/dorm room right now. Forget the fact it has sorround sound built in, I'm talking about the material and comfort of it. All my friends who have used it have loved the comfort.
2) Sound: amazing. the built in speakers simulate a sorround sound effect very well. However, plug in 2 [bad] external speakers (for $... at any electronics store) and get real sorround sound. Pretty amazing, awesome to use for watching or listening to anything.
3) Customer Service: My first pyramat was actually busted. I called them up, no wait, talked to somebody in managment immediatly, they sent out a new pyramat the next day and set up a paid home pickup for my busted mat. Best service I've ever encountered.
4) Just plain cool. Your headrest is a subwoofer. You are sorrounded by sound. You can't really beat that.

Drawbacks:
-The 4inch sub could be more powerful, although its right next to your head, but it still could be a little more powerful without getting too dangerous.
-These aren't Altec Lansing speakers...but for the price for everything included you shouldn't expect them (nor are they too far off from the quality of the altec's I have on my computer)

So if you're looking for a fun new addition to wherever, seriously just buy this and check it out. For the price it's probably the best, most useful toy you will have bought in a while.

Really cool product

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 18, 2003
I saw this thing at CES and I have to admit feeling is believing. I laid down on this thing and forgot where I was for about a half an hour. The bass rumbles along with your controller and the sound is all around you. It was really cool for gaming and I bought one from amazon and i love it.

My new video game chair...

(4 out of 5) by Charles Miltenberger on Nov 20, 2002 (Castaic, CA United States)
To be honest, I was a little skeptical at first reading about a product with only rave reviews. I also new that I would be hard pressed to find something I would rather sit in playing video games than my 10-year old beanbag that is now molded to my rear. Well, I ordered one and what can I say? It actually is a very comfortable matt/chair in its own right and the sound is truly awesome - kick-axe vibrations on every crash/explosion and crisp highs make this a spectacular video gaming experience. My beanbag is now used for player 2! (my nephews fight over who is going to use it) So, why only 4 stars? Beside liking to be different, a few minor hitches- It has RCA jack auxiliary outputs for adding external speakers. This would have been more convenient if they were speaker wire outputs. I have also tried the matt using my electric guitar, and it performs solidly - I could practice for hours in relaxation bliss - but it would be nice to have a single 1/4" mono input for that app besides needing a Y-splitter. Still, an exceptional product worth every penny...

This is the best piece of furniture EVER created!!

(5 out of 5) by Brian Tepper on Nov 15, 2002 (Michigan)
I bought an Interactive Pyramat for one of my kids birthdays. I now own three of them, one for each child...and one for ME!! My kids would bug me to play video games with them and I always declined because it was uncomfortable for me to sit on the floor for long periods of time. Now, I'm the one harassing my kids to play Playstation with me. Between the comfort the Pyramat offers, and the sounds it generates, I can sit in it for hours. It has OFFICIALLY become my favorite piece of furniture in the house. I sit in it while playing games with my kids, or just watching sports (ALL DAY SUNDAY!!!) THE PYRAMAT INTERACTIVE IS THE BEST PIECE OF FURNITURE EVER CREATED!!!

Makes your games come alive

(5 out of 5) by st0rmbringer on Jan 18, 2003 (Redondo Beach, CA United States)
There's nothing like feeling your chest rumble as you're snipering people on Unreal Tournament. It's pretty sweet for watching DVD's too. It folds up real small so I can tuck it away when I'm not using it. Does anyone know if the tables on the Pyramat website work with this?

I don't think anyone should be without this high intensity chair!
