Very happy with purchase

(5 out of 5) by R. J. Paquin on May 21, 2004 (Prospect Heights, IL USA)
Our first pair of binoculars, and my wife and I could not be happier. Clear, easy to focus, light weight. Great clarity at near distances; we have a Mourning Dove nest right off of our balcony -- less than six feet away -- and these binoculars allow us to to observe excellent detail. We're very happy with them; so much so that I just purchased the Bushnell Powerview 16x50 pair!

Boresight error

(2 out of 5) by R. Williams on Oct 16, 2005 (Portland, OR USA)
Although they work fine for close up (less than 50 feet) views, the pair I received had a significant boresight error between the two sides. This results in double images of far away objects. I suppose it has to do with the all-plastic construction. There was also a piece of plastic missing next to the focus control.

Great for backyard birding

(4 out of 5) by F. L. Fabrizio on Jan 24, 2007 (Birmingham, AL)
I bought this so we could get a better look at the birds in our backyard. We keep it by the kitchen window, and find ourselves using it at least once a week to peek at a feathered friend who is visiting. Nice clear lens, pretty easy to find objects through them. Certainly does the job we need it to do. Don't buy this if you do your birding out in the field - these are not particularly portable nor leightweight and are not meant to be; buy a binocular specifically made for that purpose.

Only complaint, and it is minor, is that I find the lens caps to be flimsy and a little hard to use. We generally just keep them off.

excellent value

(5 out of 5) by Herbert C. Meyer on May 13, 2007 (Shelbyville, KY, USA)
Purchased to view birds and wildlife from my kitchen window. Sharp, clear image at reasonable cost. Replaced old pair of 7x35's that no longer fuse images properly (dropped too many times) and a pair of compacts (too small for good image).

OK for the price once I get them reglued.

(3 out of 5) by Charles Little on Sep 26, 2005
These binocs seem ok, given the low price, for the amateur birder, sports fan and theatre buff. However the rubber eye-cups virtually immediately popped off (I was adjusting for my glasses) and will need to be reglued. Bushnell said they'd do it for free but think of the time and postage wasted so I'll glue them myself.
