These are nice set of EP's, filters, and a nice case! I used them with my Hardin Deep Space 8" dob, and was able to split the Double Double! using the 9 mm lense. You do give up some clarity next to a televue, but not that much for a part time user.

I ordered this item with trepidation after reading the reviews that said that the item was never in stock. I received the item in one day. The eyepieces are of extremely high quality. The first night I was observing Jupiter and its Gallialean moons using these eyepieces along with my Nexstar 114GT. An execellent value for high quality optics.

I'm not going to imply that these are the best eyepieces available but they are good eyepieces and they are incredibly affordable. They are essentially Celestron's "Omni" series Plossl eyepieces, which are their least expensive series and retail for $30 - $40 each. Just the eyepieces alone are worth the $100. The barlow lens is a quality piece but is fairly redundant with these eyepieces unless you have a very short focal ratio telescope. The color filters are a good all around set but they would only be useful for 8" and larger telescopes and then only for planetary viewing. I don't care for the moon filter. It is better than nothing, but I prefer using polarizing filter for the moon.

So buy it for the case and the eyepieces and if you get any use out of the rest that is just frosting on the cake!

The eyepieces alone are easily worth the price. The barlow lens, planetary filters, and lockable aluminum case just make a great deal even greater. Normally, Celestron only offers this deal if you also purcahse a Celestron telescope. If you're in need of some good eyepieces and accessories consider this set. You won't be disappointed!

I'm fairly new to astronomy, but I expected better quality when I purchased this eyepiece kit from Celestron. After reading some of the reviews here, I was convinced that these were going to be some decent eyepieces and filters. This kit may be alright for some, but I found them lacking in quality of fit and build and would not recommend them to anyone who has the desire to use the high-power eyepieces (9x, 6x, 4x, etc). I bought these because of the low price tag, and for the most part, I regret not just buying one or two better quality eyepieces from Televue. The filters were really "cheap" too.
