(5 out of 5) by V. Chao on Apr 18, 2006 (los angeles, ca)i'm surprised about the low marks for this product, because as somebody who's tried a bunch of different hands-free sets, this is BY FAR the best one i've ever used.
the basics: fits securely in your ear (maybe i have big ear holes but a lot of the other hands-free sets have too much slip inside in my ear), the straight boom holds the microphone right against your cheek for good voice transmission (the hands-free sets with a microphone on the cord swing around too much), it's durable, and looks good.
the bonus: it comes with a lifetime warranty. let's face it, after getting shoved in so many pockets and backpacks, all handsfree kits will break eventually. belkin has an unbelievably hassle-free replacement policy. call them up, and they'll take care of it.
finally: having purchased a bunch of different headsets over the year, i'm impressed with how belkin continually tries to improve this product including: better coloring (so the paint no longer rubs off), better molding (so they don't crack as easily) to an improved insert plug (so the wires don't fray as easily), to decreasing the size of the volume dial (so it no longer gets spun as easily). perhaps the negative reviews of this product were from an older iteration of the product. all i can say is that i no longer bother trying to find a better hands-free set, cuz i really think this is the best one out there. and i love that i don't have to buy any more when they (inevitably eventually) break, cuz belkin will replace it free.

Poor manufacturing quality
(2 out of 5) by R. Miller on Apr 29, 2005So glad I paid less than half the MSRP of $30 for this item. The plastic molds do not fit together correctly. The sound is muffled and the volume wheel rubs against the plastic. I do not recommend this product

It works, but there's a problem
(2 out of 5) by Conservative Resister on Jan 29, 2003 (San Antonio TX)I have a problem with their earpiece, in that it doesn't want to stay in my ear sometimes. It functions well when it stays in, but it's highly annoying to fish for it when I turn my head too fast.
This works well if you have very large ear openings, or if you can wear a large earbud headphone with no problems.
I had to return this item.
