Well manufactured
What can you say about this item? It looks good with a metallic blue finish and gold contacts. It's easy to grasp with a traction enhancing grip embedded into the connector assembly. I connect my Sony DVD player's digital coax output to the digital coax input of my Logitech Z-5500 speaker system with this cable and get spectacular and high fidelity results, although I would mainly credit the speaker system for that, as I would hope digital signals would be more forgiving of any cable deficiencies.
But, it's good to have a well shielded cable, regardless. There are numerous analog video and audio cables running over my desk; lack of shielding would result in distracting noise somewhere. I paid for a high quality display. I paid for high quality audio. This means I needed to keep paying and use only quality shielded cables in order to eliminate cable crosstalk noise.
So, if you need a 12 foot digital coax cable, this is a reasonable choice. (As it happens, I could and should have ordered a shorter cable; six feet would have been ample and would have reduced my noise exposure even further.)

Acoustic Research Cable
This is very good cable for the price, the build quality is excelent and it works fine. I can't say much about the "Sound Quality" because I don't think there is such a thing for cable of this length. It works fine and is of good build quality, comparing it to cables costing twice as much or more...
works perfectly
works perfectly for sending pre-encoded dolby digital from my x-fi sound card to my reciever. Used a MONO phono (rca) to miniplug to connect it to the sound card (2.99 at radioshak).

Low quality
I was impressed with the packaging and "appearance" of quality. The shipper was very timely in getting my order out to me. When I received the item I plugged it into my stereo and DVD player. The quality of the product is very generic and was worthless. I received nothing but a distored signal coming through my speakers. I rechecked all the connections and made sure that they were all tight yet to no avail. I've been hooking up my own electronics for years. After the attempt I replugged my optical cable in and tossed the other one away. I did not contact the seller, I just thought it would be a waste of everyone's time and if a replacement was sent I would wind up with the same low quality product.
