These are great speakers. They work great when i watch tv or movies. They're pretty cheap and work really well. I highly recommend them!

Compares to my Linn Kans and Kan IIs
Alright, I have to admit to owning a Linn Stereo system for my main audio system (Karik, Majik, LP12 w/Lingo and k18 cartridge, and Kan IIs), but I went budget for my home theatre when I got into that with my first DVD player. I used an old pair of Linn Kans with a Denon DRA-295 receiver. Then, I bought the Kreisen KR-270T LCD flat panel display, added a Momitsu DVD-880 region free DVD player and a comfy sofa. The sound of the old Denon was OK, but I wanted the full digital audio surround sound, which meant new speakers. On the other hand, I really didn't want to splash out on another pair of Linn speakers. I bought these guys, a Harman Kardon AVR 235 receiver, Yamaha YST-SW215 8" Powered Subwoofer, and the KLH 525 II Center Channel Speaker to make a fantastic system. These speakers work very well as surround speakers with the Linn Kans in front. My home theatre room has come alive with sound. I highly recommend these speakers. I would use three pairs of them if I were building my current home audio system from scratch and have recommended them to a friend who is getting into the home theatre. Yes, these speakers are inexpensive, but not cheap! Update, I set up a home theatre system for my fiancee using these as the main speakers and the sound was very similar to the Linns. That's a very strong compliment for someone who is not a polk afficianado!

These Polk speakers sound great with good bass and highs and smooth clarity.
This may sound strange but my nephew goes to a "high end" daycare / preschool in NYC called Smarter Toddler and one of the reasons I know this pre school is high end is because these Polk speakers are mounted on the wall in the Stroller room and they are always playing amazing Jazz and World music. These Polk speakers sound great with good bass and highs and smooth clarity. This same day care center also has Klipsch and Acoustic Research speakers in some of the classrooms and hallways so you know they take music seriously.
