a low priced performer

(5 out of 5) by the Mulefool on Feb 28, 2007 (the DAX...NY--usa)
I ordered these speakers based on Polk's fine reputation and the crazy low price...I wasn't disapointed at all--in fact was astounded at how good a 34[each] dollar speaker could sound! I grabbed the 2 pairs of these with a center channel speaker [all Polk] and hooked up the Velodyne sub [vx10] and let me tell ya...I couldn't have hoped for a better sound! I actually made money selling off my old, huge dinosaur-speakers and sub and switching to this smaller, modern system...and got better sound to boot! Polk is my new speaker brand for sure...

Polk R15 Speakers

(5 out of 5) by Michael David Cantor on Feb 21, 2007
These little speakers are terrific. I replaced a pair of bulky Infinity speakers with these and the size difference alone made these appealing. However, coupled with a Yamaha subwoofer, these front home theater speakers do exactly what is required of them, and more. They work well with my Onkyo receiver, provide excellent theater-quality sound and play all kinds of music with a deep, rich tone. Highly recommended....especially with the price.

Great speakers for price and size!

(4 out of 5) by S. Quigley on Jan 23, 2007 (Westbrook, Maine)
I hooked these up to a 5.1 Dolby Didgital sound system as the front left and right speakers. They are the right size and sound for what I was looking for. They are good looking and versital. I will mount them to the wall for maximum effect. For this price you cannot go wrong, not only is it a great name speaker, it performs well too.

Book shelf speakers

(5 out of 5) by S. Moss on Jan 11, 2007 (Ormond Beach, Fl United States)
The Polk Audio R15 bookshelf speakers have a sweet sound. We placed them with another set of PA speakers to complete our living room surround sound system. I would definitely buy these for other rooms.

Great for the price

(4 out of 5) by Mr. Scott D. Desalvo on Jan 20, 2007 (Chicago, IL)
You cannot compare these to floorstanding, full range speakers, nor can you compare them to smaller speakers that cost ten times as much. If your frame of reference is using speakers that came with a surround sound receiver, or speakers by KLH, Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, or any brand not KNOWN for making speakers, these are probably the nicest thing you could do for yourself. They are very nice bright sounding speakers for a bargain price. I use them as my rear surrounds with Polk Monitor 60's in the front, a Polk center (CS!?) and a Velodyne sub. I upgraded from Infinity speakers of the same size that were about 10 or 12 years old. Polks feature a brighter more forward sound, with perhaps a touch more detail in the high end than the Infinitys.
If you are expecting audiophile, $1000 speaker type sound, you arent getting that from these, but they will sound alot better than what most people use or what came in a surround sound package.
