(5 out of 5) by K. MOLAND on Mar 2, 2010
These are great speakers. I have them outside and they with stand the elements. I would purchase again.

We hooked the Polk Audio Atrium 45's up in the house first. They were ok, but when they made it outdoor's by the pool it was awsome to say the least. Cant wait until summer

Fill with water

(3 out of 5) by Stephen J. Miller on Nov 20, 2009
I bought these almost two years ago and have sent a total of three speakers back for replacement because they filled up with water outside. The rep at Polk audio told me to put teflon tape on the threads where the mounting knobs screw into the speakers. I just wanted to let people know so they can avoid the water issue. Otherwise these are awesome sounding speakers.

Very good clear sound

(5 out of 5) by Bob on Nov 15, 2009 (TX)
These speakers are great with clear sound and plenty of power. I was concerned when the box arrived with a dent in one side. The damage was very minor with only one very tiny dent in one of the speaker grills which is easily repairable. No harm to the speaker itself. I installed them under the eves of my patio horizontally rather than vertically to be able to aim the music for the desired coverage. The mounting instructions said to mount the speakers down a little from the underside of the eves to reduce the bass effect so that's what I did and got a good balanced sound. The speakers are connected to a TEAC AG-790 amp using 16/4 speaker wire so I can choose which set I want to use (or both). My music source right now is only from a Delphi SkyFi2 XM satellite radio using a stereo docking adaptor. Good speakers, good sound. Stunned

(5 out of 5) by Adam M. Rice on Nov 7, 2009 (Pittsburgh, PA)
I put a pair of these on my back deck, and connected it to my Yamaha RX-V3900's second zone. I was absolutely blown away - and so were the rest of my friends. I'm no audiophile, but I am a music lover. The sound is warm and full. Absolutely do not hesitate to buy these speakers! I also have the suggested in-wall speakers in a 5.1 surround sound setup in my living room - another fantastic performer!
