Love Pioneer

(5 out of 5) by Alan L. Campbell on Feb 12, 2003 (Kern River Valley, Ca. USA)
I bought the direct fit stereo for a '95 chevy truck. It is one of the beat aftermarket stereos that I've bought. It fits great( with the base plate from the original) ,looks great and sounds excelent. The supertuner brings distant stations very well9 I live in the mountains). I recommend this unit highly.

Great Piece of Audio Equipment

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Sep 1, 2003 (Alpharetta,Ga)
I purchased the unit new in the middle September 2002 and enjoyed for 6 weeks. This unit worked flawlessly, even played my CD-R's. My vehicle was totaled November 15th. I hate to get rid of it but, now I don't have anything to put it in.

stereo sound and bracket issue

(4 out of 5) by Nickleback on Apr 4, 2007 (usa)
It sounds great but I did have a little trouble mounting it on my 98 chevy z71 truck. The brackets didn't quite work as the instructions had implied. But as far as the sound and features I think it sounds really good.

Great Sound - finding some problems

(3 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Oct 7, 2003
I purchased this unit used for my Dodge Ram. The installation was easy and straightforward. It would have been nice if Pioneer had supported this product with actual wiring diagrams but they don't have them on their web site and don't respond with any useful information. My unit has a problem on power up. Sometimes it just doesn't power on. Usually it does but when it doesn't I can't seem to find a way to turn it on other than turning the engine off and on until it does power up. Sometimes detaching the faceplate and reattaching works although I can find no loose connections. Apparently this is not unusual from what I've been able to read on the internet. When it does work it's really a great sounding unit. Since the power problem is infrequent, I guess I'll tolerate it.

Very dissatisfied

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 27, 2004
This stereo has been a disappointment in the 3 weeks I have owned it. It seems to have been manufactured sloppily. The face plate does not fit on tight, so sometimes when I go over bumps the unit powers off. Even simple tasks such as setting the clock have way too many unnecessary steps. I thought the handbook was complicated to use as well. I plan on returning the unit.
