Bargin

I've heard nothing but good things about this player - until I came here (see review above). I have to say I have little problem with the player. It's fairly simple but does it's job well. I was going to buy an external hard drive for about the same price - with the treo I get an mp3 player for free.

+ small (smaller than treo 10!), great value, looks (yes I like it - silver/metallic seems a bit dated to me now), battery life 12-16 hours!

- Sound quality was bad before I bought some new headphones (HD 212s), now it's excellent. No ID3 support - there already has been one firmware upgrade, maybe next one will have ID3 (You could download SDK and implement this yourself)

All in all I would highly recomend this player to anyone. After a while with any electronic equipment you forget all the gimmicks, looks etc. What really counts is usuabillity, build quality, size, sound. This player manages all 4 well.

The review above is based on the treo 10, obviously the treo 15 is a major improvement.

Treo 15 Quality Mp3 player

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 26, 2004
I have one thing to say and that is there are up's and down's to this player. I've had some trouble but mostly it was my fault. I've read some of the other reviews that say don't buy this product. Well i'm at a loss of words for them because i have no trouble with my treo 15. Most of the problems that i do see are on my own accord like not draining the battery because if u don't do that the battery loses its life and becomes obsolete. So my advice to any buyers is be careful with this piece of technology. It is fragile so don't be mad if u dropped it and it doesn't work anymore or something i suggest buying this item its very good

The wayward e.digital treo's machines

(4 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 10, 2004
The treo 15 by e.digital is pretty good mp3 player. It small enough to be hidden, but large enough to look like an compact player. Storage for this model is nice, 15gig adequate, adequate for me. Down side is it's not easily accessible to download music or organize selections. And since E.digital is not in to these small hand held machine the support base isn't as good.

You get what you pay for

If this product is anything like the smaller version the Treo 10 then I would look around for other options. The only thing consistant with this product are the headaches it offers. I purchased the treo 10 at a Comp USA and was able to exchange the origional product 3 days after purchase with hopes of just getting a lemon. I struggled with the short comings for several months (i.e. random play was the same list of songs every time, buttons wouldn't work properly, songs skipped which was my fault as I came to find I loaded them at too low a quality, volume level was horrible, and several times I had to reset the player erasing everything I had on it). Finally I went directly to the company. Very friendly customer service but I guess they have to be because the product never gets fixed. I have sent it back 2 times and am so fed up with the player now I'm in the market for a new jukebox. Frustrating because even at the low quality the songs didn't transfer that quickly and now I have to do it all again with a new product. From the problems I have had with this product I wouldn't buy a garden hose from this company......

Do not buy any Treo product

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 21, 2004
This is truely a piece of junk. I see that the product is either 'not in stock or discontinued'. If it has been discontinued, great. No one should ever have to suffer through the ownership of this junk. If it is simply out of stock, do not purchase it when it is back in stock. It skips, the battery stays charged for about 10 minutes instead of 10 hours, the sound comes through one earphone only, etc, etc, etc. And I am talking about one that was sent back to the company and 'repaired', TWICE.
