Good Buy
(4 out of 5) by Richard Davis on Nov 5, 2006 (Chicago, IL)Unit boasts large speakers. The sound is above average, although there isn't much bass. A traditional analog (nondigital) tuner makes it easier to change stations or to scan stations quickly. One drawback is that the unit does not play MP3 files burned to a CD. Contains a built-in microphone for tape, which is a virtual rarity these days. The draw of the unit is it's crystal clear sound, although I would prefer just a bit more bass.

Nice but could use more stuff
(2 out of 5) by Mr. Music Man on Nov 24, 2004 (Wolf Point, MT)I bought this and thought it would work on it's own. When i played a cd the subwoofers didn't even. When i read the manual i was i needed a 15v dc adapter which i cannot find ANYWHERE! So if you get this be prepared to go on a wild goose chase for a 15v adapter. Or else stock up on batteries cause it uses TEN! damn who ever heard of a woofer being plugged in by itself. If i have nay luck with stereo I'll write another review until then i am frustrated with this company.

Great Product!
(5 out of 5) by E. Houston on Aug 14, 2006 (Chicagoland)I highly recommend anyone try this radio/cd/cassette player. I used it for a family reunion where there was no electricity. The player runs on electricity or batteries and the sound, using batteries, is fantastic. You can also hook up a microphone. It was definitely a good purchase.

bad product
(1 out of 5) by Abby Lockcart on Sep 9, 2007 (Penna)We purchased a Coby boombox. Everytime we turned up the volumn, the cd would skip. We tried this several times and it was always the same. We returned it and received another one. It did the same thing. I called Coby and they said the Boombox was defected so we had to send it back again! If the product was defected, then why are they selling it?????

Disappointment

Smith on Jul 30, 2007 (Kingsport,Tn USA)I really thought this item would have been alot better.The sound was very distorted @ a loud volume.No bass what so ever,it was not very loud either.My advice to anyone purchasing this item is,do not buy it if you like clear sounding and loud bass music,it is not for you.Looks are deceiving in this case.However,Amazon is still a great place to buy,cheap and fast delivery,just don't recommend this item for users that like a clear sound.
