I HAVE USED IT FOR SEVERAL THINGS FROM TAKING CLOSEUPS OF JEWELRY TO OUTDOOR PICTURES IN THE NIGHT. IF YOU ARE SELLING ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET THIS WILL ENHANCE YOUR PICS ALSO. IF YOU ARE INTO SERIOUS PHOTOGRAPHY THIS IS A GREAT ACCESSORY FOR YOUR CAMERA.

Fantastic for dental photography
(5 out of 5) by nuno ventura on Dec 14, 2002 (Portugal)I recently bought this light for use in my dental practice. After looking for expensive ring flaslights, this cool light is simply great. One of the features i like more is that when you use a ring flashlight in dental photography you need to close off all the other light sources, which means you have them on, you focus, you turn them off and you shoot the photo. With the cool light the light is allready on before and after the shot.

Nikon Macro Cool SL-1...Really Cool!
(5 out of 5) by RWP on Nov 27, 2009This product is simple and highly effective. The fact that it uses LEDs as the light source means there is lonnnng battery life. I photograph a lot of Victorian antique furniture at close-up range and the SL-1 has added a quality that I have never achieved before. The photos are clear, evenly lit, and the revealed detail is magnificent. Nikon needs to lower the price, as this product came out some time ago and the price of LED products since then has fallen.
