Great PS/2 to USB conversion hub

(5 out of 5) by G. Ragsdale on Oct 17, 2006 (San Antonio, TX USA)
I use the Buslink USB MULTI-FUNCTION HUB (H-Combo) to adapt PS/2 keyboards and mice to several computers. It works flawlessly with my IBM/Lenova Thinkpad T43P and with my AMD Athlon 64x2 desktop. It installs and works well within Windows XP Pro. I tried several PS/2 to USB converters. This is the only one that works reliably, probably because it is a self-powered USB hub. It has enough power to drive the PS/2 keyboard interface.

One note - the installation instructions may not mention every step of the installation. I found that the supplied software actually installs two drivers. The instructions only provide instructions for the installation of the first driver. The procedure is the same but the second driver name is different from the one shown in the instructions.

Works great with my HP laserjet 6L Parallel Port printer!!

(5 out of 5) by Klem on Nov 21, 2009
My new laptop doesn't have a parallel port for my favorite printers, HP Laserjet6L's that have served me well for many years.
I tried several other USB hubs and a couple of USB to parallel converter cables, but absolutely nothing worked reliably. Finally tried one of these and it works perfectly with zero errors or glitches.
It installed easily and quickly on the Windows XP laptop. The manual says it works on Windows 98SE, ME, 2000 and Mac OS 9.0 or higher, but obviously it works great with my XP so it probably will work with anything later.
I have a USB mouse, two printers (the HP and a color laser), and a thumb drive on it. But according to the manual, it can handle all those and more including a scanner, gaming control, modem, keyboard and other USB devices. I'm really pleased with the results.
