Entry-level - packed with features

(5 out of 5) by Mike Tarrani on Oct 14, 2002 (Deltona, FL USA)
The fixed 16 MB, which cannot be upgraded or swapped out, makes this camera suitable for entry-level buyers or those on a budget, but who want a digital camera with a suite of features and software.

It's the features that make this camera such a value - it can function as a webcam/video conferencing camera, a digital camcorder (although you're limited to 3 minutes and 20 seconds of relatively low-resolution 320 x 240 video with voice annotation), and a digital still camera that can take 450 shots at 640 x 480 or 2000 shots at 320 x 240 resolution. It can also serve as a voice recorder that can hold up to 30 minutes of voice only recording.

In addition to the features that are built in, the camera also comes with an up-to-date version of Microsoft NetMeeting, Ulead PhotoExpress 3.0 photo editing software, Ulead Cool 360 panoramic creation software, and Ulead Photo Explorer to manage your photos.

If you are a casual user or primarily want a webcam that can sometimes function as a still camera or camcorder you may not outgrow this device. However, if what you really want is a digital camera, but want to start with a modestly-priced starter camera you'll probably love it. It installs easily and performs to specifications - two of the most important features of any camera in any price range.

Don't waste your money

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 1, 2004
I purchased 2 of these for my sons for Christmas, they are not windows XP friendly. I emailed the Tech support with questions and they have not answered my questions after 7 days. I will be returning these.

never by anyone of this co.'s product

(1 out of 5) by Jong-sun Kim on Oct 14, 2005 (TX, USA)
First, device itself has a bad quality.
pictures- useless, video- worse, voice recorder - I never used it.

You might find out that as a web cam it has pretty good quality compare to other normal web cams, but if you are using Windows XP, this thing goes to junk.

I bought a Dell 700m just a week ago.I was so happy to get one, but than this darn thing keeps freezing my new laptop. I have some friends to talk oversea, so I'm still keeping this junk, but I'm planning to replace it with different web cam. probably a Logitech's. I heard their are good. Anyway i spent 100$ when i bought this, and I absolutely wasted my money!

Disappointment

Even though it says on the box "works great with Windows XP" I found out that it doesn't. It is NOT Windows XP compatible.
