Very thoughtfully designed, the Genovation Micropad numeric keypad will connect to your computer Windows computer using either the Ps/2 or the serial port; if the former, it has a Y connection so you can plug in a keyboard as well. No driver is necessary: just plug in and go. I use it with a Dell Inspiron notebook and have both a serial mouse and the built-in pointing stick working at the same time, without a glitch. Since I can set it up to use with my left hand (I'm right-handed), I think I'll get a second to use with my main computer as well, since Sibelius notation software uses the number pad to save millions of keystrokes.
