Poor resolution
Like most other 19 inch LCD monitors, this one only supports 1280x1024 resolution. This really should be much higher. My Dell notebook has a 14 inch screen with an incredible 1600x1200. Text looks like text. Italics look like italics. We should expect more from monitor manufacturers.

Good value, and pretty solidly built - but no documentation.
Not the sharpest picture I've ever seen, but a decent one, and good value. The build quality seems pretty good too, with a solid frame, and no dead pixels. No problems installing in Win98, or RH Linux 7.3 (using Xconfigurator).
Biggest issue is that it came with absolutely NO documentation or instructions.

Wow...
...I did check the reviews here first and have to agree. Setup was a few minutes and the display looks stunning with no bad pixels that I could see. Colors are rich and saturated with excellent blacks and everything is so sharp. I thought my Sony laptop LCD was da bomb, not it looks dowdy compared to this great product. Have not tried the speakers and may not. I also have not gotten into the controls, however I don't think I need to adjust anything at all. Great product, I am a Viewsonic believer now.

Oh My Gawd! What a monitor!
Just got it yesterday, I'm in awe whenever I use it. DVD's are great, and saves a ton of desk space. On XP Pro, had a little trouble loading the drivers through the ViewSonic Wizard, but went back and installed them through device manager later. No biggie. Didn't hook up the speakers, but connected the cable in case I want to use them with my laptop. ... Love this monitor...

Very Happy
My first impression was fantastic when I lifted it off the shelf at UPS. 20lbs. "Wonderful!", I thought. I got it home, packed up my old 17" HP CRT (heavy/bulky) and pulled out the VX900 and all of it's cables (kind of intimidating at first). The setup instructions were clear in the booklet, but they failed to mention some simple steps (removing the panels from the back of the monitor to hook up the cables). After I stared at it for a few minutes, I mananged to get the panels off and plug it all in. I didn't even hook up the speaker/microphone cables based on other reviews on the speakers. The image is big, flat, and wonderful.
My only other complaint (besides the hook-up issue) is the annoying chirp/squeak the screen control buttons make when you use them. I haven't checked on if I can mute them or if there's actually just something wrong with my monitor.
Overall, I'm very happy with it. It's my first non-CRT monitor, so I can't compare it to anything else. It's definitely a good buy.
