Do NOY BUY Viewsonic

(1 out of 5) by Stephen Antonucci on Mar 22, 2005 (New Jersey)
This company is totally unresponsive to warranty problems. I bought this monitor that is listed with a three year warranty. It died in the middle of the 13th month. Even with the Viewsonic web site still showing a three year warranty for this monitor they will NOT honor it, NOW claiming a one year warranty!!! It has been over a week of phone calls, faxes, and emails. NO RESPONSE from a supervisor or anybody else!

I will NEVER buy from Viewsonic again! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! I will be contacting better business bureau and others! Terrible service!

Awesome, in all aspects

I do everything from surfing the web, to games. It is perfectly clear on it's Native resolution and since I normally play first person shooter games, ex. MOHAA, UT2003, and BF1942, there is almost no motion blur at all. It is normally not noticable, but during some fast action DVD's, you can see a slight trail behind the object in motion. Besides that, if you are a gamer or plan on using it for home movies, I would highly recommend the VX900. Great monitor, in a great looking case.

~ I am running it off of a Radeon 9700 pro mainly on DVI, but very little difference when using the Analog.

Very Pleased

This is one great LCD. Excellent quality and performance. I have it sitting next to a 19" sony hd400 crt and it"s hard to see a difference in picture sharpness. I run a gainward g4 ti4600 and have the twinview setup so I can really compare the performance. The only drawback is the "ghosting" that occures in High fps games. In flight sims, you notice it alot more. In first person shooters like Americas Army, it's only noticable when panning and then not very bad. This is not untypical of LCD's. However with this monitors 25ms response time, it is one of the best. I did contact viewsonic about the ghosting and was pleasently suprised by their quick and proffesional response. I would not hesitate to recommend this monitor.

Superb monitor and excellent prices

I had a large 18" CRT NEC monitor, which was big and took up too much desk space. I needed more desk space to work properly. After checking out several monitors I decided to purchase the View Sonic VX 900 LCD display and it's an excellent choice. At first I was skeptical because I heard that you have to give up text quality and I work with a lot of text. However, after trying out this monitor I can honestly say that the text is extremely clear and crisp (much easier to read than my old CRT monitor). The colors are bright and beautiful and it's great on your eyes. This monitor was easy to set up--I recommend it hightly. I have not tried the speakers, so I can't comment on the sound quality.

I am pleased so far

I like this 19" monitor a lot better than my previous 18" Phillips. Mainly, as a Spinal Tap fan would say, because it's 1" bigger.

Seriously, besides being 19" (bigger than 18"), it delivers a bright, crisp, perfect picture. Installation took 10 minutes or less, consisting mainly in plugging a couple of cables at the back of the monitor and then connecting the other ends to the computer and the power outlet. And that was it. Life's been great ever since.

The reason I couldn't afford the fifth star: can't turn the display left/right independently from the base.
