We got these so we could remote control our Tivo from anywhere in the house. The black Leapfrogs pictured work so amazingly well!! I can use them in the basement or the 2nd floor and they all talk to each other. Watch out, though, because when we ordered these, we got a newer model/style (different look, not called Leapfrog, but with the same model number) and they did not work at all - not even with each other - not even from 2 inches or 3 feet away!! We returned them the next day!

Wow! Why didn't I get these months ago??? My amplifier is in a cabinet under my tv and for over two years I've had to open the cabinet door to control the volume whenever I watched a video or played a cd. No more! Heck I didn't even have to hook up the extra remote emmiter. The infared from the device bounces around inside the cabinet and controls the amp. It comes with plug in power converters (for each device) as well as a remote emitter if you need it. I had them up and working in less than 5 minutes. And, they use my existing remote control.

The benefits:
1. I was able to change TV channels and Stereo volume in my
Family Room from the Kitchen!
2. Very easy to setup -- just plug in and go.
The drawbacks:
1. The IR Extender line uses a weak sticker
(recommend upgrading this to a strong velcro sticker)
2. The Antennae are long and shoot straight up (no pivot to turn
them if in a tight area). I had the transmitter on top of
my TV and the receiver down under my TV inside the TV stand.
This worked fine for a year until someone closed the door on
the antennae and bent it.
3. The two units need some sort of weight or velcro to hold them
in place. One was on top of the TV (up high) and was knocked
off when someone walked past -- this broke it and now I need
to get a replacement?!?
Other than that, this product outshines Jensen's. :)

Great product for the money. I've used much more expensive products (electronic eyes) set up by a professional in our previous home to link all TVs in the 2-story house to our Tivo unit in the media room.
When I moved to a new house, I switched to Dish Network which has its own IR system built into their HD/DVR receiver to allow for viewing recorded programming on two separate TVs. My audio professional was doing some other work for me, and recommended that I purchase Leapfrogs to use with my primary TV in my den because the components were behind a solid cabinet door. I purchased Leapfrog and he installed it. The Leapfrog worked perfectly, allowing me to turn all components on and off with the cabinet door closed at the primary TV.
HOWEVER, the IR system on the Dish receiver COMPETES WITH THE LEAPFROG when I'm using my remote on my secondary TV. I was unable to even turn on my Dish receiver from the secondary TV. The way I get around it is that I must unplug both the Leapfrog units on the primary TV each time I want to use the secondary TV in order for my remote to operate properly. A bit of a pain, but a much less expensive fix than installing an electronic eye.
The Leapfrog works just as it should - no complaints. Just wish they could work on two separate frequencies to allow both the Dish Network remote and Leapfrog to co-exist.

Purchased this for a present. Hooked up for the person I bought it for and works excellent as advertised. Used for a directv receiver that is upstairs.
