Good for a year
I had this monitor for about a year (actually, the first one). It was perfect for daily use. However, it started to flicker right after that. Called the customer service and was told there were three options to get the service of warranty. I chose the one that I could keep having a monitor to use, i.e., they sent me a remanufactured one for free and then I sent mine back to their service center at my costs (30 bucks!!!). I did received the replacement quickly, but it was a real "remanufactured" monitor, dirty screen and flickered a few times a day. Anyway, I decided to keep it as it worked o.k. most of the time. Well, guess what? After about 9 months of moderate use, the second one started to flicker badly again as the first one. The worst thing is that I can not replace it any more because a new warranty that came with the second one says that the warranty period was changed from three years to one year from the purchasing date (that was almost two years ago). It is really a ridiculous policy.
So my recommendation is that this is the right monitor for you if you plan to replace your computer every year, otherwise, stay away from it. My experience, as well as those of other reviewers, does suggest that there is a quality problem with this product.

Looks nice, but...
My monitor is now a year old. The color is fantastic, the SuperBrite function is great for gaming. But the monitor is starting to fail at just one year of age. I notice there is another reviewer with the same "screen-blink" issue after about a year. The 3-year warranty might sound nice, until you read the fine print where you have to pay to ship the monitor to NEC--Mitsubishi, and pay for the return shipping. That is a lot of money for shipping on a monitor that might only last another year.

Good for people with bad eyes, but...
I bought this monitor from Dell in Nov or Dec last year (can't remember) as they had it on sale and with free shipping. The monitor certainly is bright, thought it's not a bad thing. The biggest problem with this monitor is that it's a 19" monitor but can't display 1280x1024@85Hz legibly. Text is horribly blurry at that resolution. It looks great at 1024x768 but that is WAY too low for a 19"; everything looks SO huge. My fault for not researching it enough as 1024 is the recommended resolution for this model.

BEST MONITOR EVER!!
This monitor is UNBELIEVABLE! I heard it was amazing, but now that I have it hooked up to my new computer it's even better than I thought. I picture is crystal clear, it is great looking, and the superbright function is state of the art. If you're looking for a monitor you can't go wrong with this one. It's worth every single penny! Nice job NEC!

Are you kidding!!!!!!
This is the perfect monitor for you if you like to spend $300 bucks on another 19" monitor after two years. I am amazed to read that I am not the only with the flickering problem and the white horizontal line. I wonder if the other people with the same problem fix it like I do. By slapping it hard on the side until the white line goes away. They say you get what you pay for. But I didn't know that $300 bucks would get me this piece of $#!+ Other than that it is a perfectly fine looking monitor. [...]
