I was ripped off too.
I purchased the 44" version of this TV back in June 04. Within 6 months the dreaded blue line appeared at the bottom. An LG rep on another forum confirmed that excessive heat causes the plastic lens mounts to warp after awhile.(He has since deleted all his posts) I can't post a URL but do a search on E44W46LCD + TriodeGuy and you will find my posts on the other forum. There is a fix for the blue line problem that doesn't require light engine replacement. Please see my posts for details. There is also mention from another poster of a class action lawsuit in Jersey.

Class Action Suit?
My boyfriend bought this TV the first year it came out--he paid almost $6,000 for it!!! It's now almost four years old. We've have the same green/yellow tinge with loads of blue throughout. Quoted over $1,000 for the repair. The local repair people didn't even have to come look at it to know what the diagnosis was. This product is a lemon and the manufacturer keeps rolling out the product year after year. The manufacturers are criminals. If I had the money and time, I'd sue them.

Class Action Lawsuit Overdue
I have the 42" version of this set. Light engine replaced three months after purchase....now, 24 months later, blue haze slowly taking over the set. I also contacted LG customer service, and got a response from.......Neil......Neil must have a great job. Wait for complaints to come in and then hit 'send' on the scripted response that offers no help whatsoever. My email was EXACTLY the same as the response Freddie got. This is criminal!!!!

Very Disappointed
After doing much research, I bought this TV in October 2004, based on positive reviews on amazon and the price I was able to get it at. Paid $2700 total by going through a distributor, friend of a friend type thing. I thought this was a steal. I was very happy for the first year, but then the bulb went out after 15 months. And we're not talking about 24/7 TV here, maybe a few hours a day at most. That cost me $250. Then at just under the 2 year mark, I start noticing this blue dis-colorization taking up the entire right side of my screen, and a little on bottom. I finally got around to getting a tech to the house to take a look. I was hoping it was something simple, but like other reviewers got the bad news that I needed a new light engine. I was quoted $1180, less than other reviewers, but still too much in my opinion to sink into this TV. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in this TV, less than 2 years and it turns out to be a lemon!! I've learned 2 painful lessons: never buy through a distributor, because I didn't have the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty, and never buy a Zenith product again.

Class action lawsuit?????
My husband and I purchased two D60WLCD 60" Zenith televisions. After the warranty had expired both TV's developed neon blue spots in the bottom corner which soon grew to cover the entire bottom 1/3 of the screen. It was $1800 each to have these repaired. I contacted LG Electronics and was slways forwarded to Danny (they don't give out last names). Never once did he answer the phone. I always spoke to his answering machine and never once did he return my call. The authorized company that repaired the TV's told me they were well aware of the problem. Now I'm on pins and needles waiting for the repaired set to begin developing the blue spots.
Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit or maybe I should start one. This television has been a major disappointment.
