Excellent Product

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jun 3, 2003 (Cockeysville, MD United States)
Just like the other reviewers, I was skeptical to buy a monitor on-line at first, given the likelyhood of having dead pixels and not being able to return it as easy as you would a locally store bought one. However, I was pleased to find no dead pixels at all. Picture quality is excellent and looks great on even the most demanding games. [...] Take my advice and buy this monitor, the features it offers are unbeatable for the price point it falls under. Don't be scared off by the few bad apple reviews given by the types of people I mentioned previously. Don't pay for the marketing costs incurred by big name companies, instead save some of your cash and by a quality LCD! Hope this helps those who needed convincing.

Excilent LCD!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Apr 25, 2003 (Oregon, USA)
...P>I was instantly impressed by the brightness and contrast of the display, just perfect. I was so amazed, I bought 2 for my dual-monitor setup (GeForce 4600 Ti)!

They both have worked flawlessly for nearly a month now, no dead pixels, etc. Games play wonderfuly at ALL resolutions from 640*480-1280*1024, and there is no hint of anything that would detract from image quality.

Another thing, they produce very little heat! I used to have 2 CRTs operating all the time (with another occasionaly), and combined with 2 computers, they heated up my room prety quickly! It became unbearible several times durring the night. No such problems with these LCDs. They produce very little heat, and my room temp has gone down on average.

I also used to get headaches from my old CRTs, but not anymore with these nice LCDs!

Also, they are black, none of the beige garbige. Although, my beige case is now screaming for attention, as it looks sorta out of place (where did I set the dremil??) :D

My only complaints: No DVI input. While not all graphics cards support it, it could provide better image quality.

Short cables, although a little trival. The supplied cable was about 6" too short for one of the monitors (It wouldn't reach!)! I tried an extention, but that resulted in severe ghosting and poor image quality, so I bought a 10' cable which works ok (a little ghosting, but that is because of the bad cable), but I still need to order a quality 10'cable, which will run me around $18 (I'm a graphics fiend, I want good picture quality).

I may also add that I have 2 other LCDs (NEC and GEM, I think), and my two Corneas beat the pants off them both ;) I now have a very jelious family :D

Super Performance at a Bargain Price

(5 out of 5) by Frank C. Rittenhouse on Jan 19, 2003 (St. Charles, MO USA)
I have used this monitor for several weeks now and absolutely love it. The display is crisp and clear, very bright with rich colors. Both text and video are excellent and it comes with an above average warranty (3 years) and the base folds flat to form a carrying handle if you need to move it. I would recommend this monitor to any and all.

Great Buy, But ...

(5 out of 5) by Sean Landers on May 13, 2003 (Santa Maria, CA United States)
I just received my Cornea MP704 17" LCD monitor and, WOW!, what a beauty. It physically looks great. It has the same "real estate" (viewable area) as a 19" CRT. The colors are vivid, the eye-strain is non-existent (read: no flickering!), all pixels seemed to be working and it was an incredible bargain (... for LCD monitors).

Waiting for the other shoe to drop?

OK, here are my complaints:
* The sharpness is not quite as defined as my 19" (non-LCD) monitor at work. There seems to be a slight "fuzziness" around the pixels.
* When watching videos containing fast action, there seems to be a bit of "ghosting", a delay in the previous lit pixels from changing, creating a small amount of blur of movement. (This is common with LCDs.)

My biggest complaint WAS a "hum" induced in my computer's sound system. However, within 24 hours of leaving a message with Cornea's tech support I got a call back and a solution. (Added a ground drop to the monitor's AC plug.) I've since edited this review, giving it 5 stars instead of 4.

Bottom line? If you're looking for a very good flat panel monitor (and good tech support) at a great price, look no further than this item.

Excellent value

(4 out of 5) by Brad Bortner on Jan 31, 2003 (Somerville, MA United States)
I bought the mp704 after being enticed by the [$$$] rebate and sale price in January. Set up was remarkably easy. Picture quality is great. 1 dead pixel, not in a bothersome location.

On the specs, I e-mailed their tech support. The higher specs listed on their web site are correct, not the lower specs in the guide in the box. 500:1 contrast and 25ms response. The explanation is that their componenets are improving all of the time.

I also found out that most of their 17 inch monitors use the same LCD. The only thing that paying for the speakers and such of the higher end models gets you is those bells and whistles. The picture quality is the same.

I'd say quite a deal
