Great quality. No problems at all. I am using Microsoft Natural Keyboard w/mouse Wireless. It switches between the two PCs fast and does not cause any problems with Windows XP Pro an x64.

Excellent!!!

This item works great. I've used other KVMs in the past, but nothing as sturdy as this one. I WAS using a wireless mouse / keyboard combo from Microsoft. I am now using a one port USB wireless mouse / keyboard. I am connecting between my PC and my Mac Mini.
The first KVM I used was weak. It was switched by using the keyboard. I had to use a PS2 to USB adapter on the Mac side. It worked on my PC, but not on the Mac. This was before the one port USB.
The second KVM was the best one I had, before this one. I was able to use both just fine, but again had to use the PS2 to USB adapter. This was when I decided to go USB wireless for both the mouse and keyboard, so I bought one.
So I bought a D-Link KVM, with 2 USB ports. What boggled me was that USB ports are universal, or so one would think. I connected my one USB port to one of the ports. Only the keyboard side worked on the PC, and the Mac didn't even recognize it.
Then this one came in the mail today, and it works on both my PC and my Mac. And best of all as well, the Multimedia keys at the top of the keyboard work as well, not like before where these keys would only work on the PC side.
So overall, this is a great investment, if you are looking for a USB KVM. I called this company, and right away, the customer representative recommended this. Therefore, I recommend it too, cause it works. The set up is self explanitory too!

Swich works great

I have a PowerBook and on old Mac G3. I use the laptop for work and the G3 is a family computer. Becasue I have limited space, I wanted to use the G3's monitor and keyboard for the laptop when I have extended or complicated tasks to do. The switch works great and allows me to use monitor spanning and an extended keyboard when I am working on large Excel spreadsheets or on PowerPoint presentations. Yet a simple push of a button allows the rest of the family to use the G3.
I prefer mechanical switching betweeen computers to a screen/keyboard based switch, because the former works with lots of different systems -- not just Windows.
Although the instructions were not clear on this, the switch comes with 2 cables, each of which includes a monitor cable and an USB cable. Therefore, you shouldn't have to buy any cables other than those that you already have connecting the monitor and the keyboard to your main computer. The 6 foot cables are heavy, which probably reduces signal loss but makes them a little awkward in my confined space.
The switch is small but heavy, suggesting that it is probably well made.
Hooking up the switch is so simple that no directions are needed. That's good because the instructions were not clear and seemed written for a different switch.
All in all, a product that does what is is supposed to.

Very Pleased

This KVM switch has more positive reviews than any other KVM switch, and it is well justified. I have this hooked up to a Dell Dimension 8100 running Ubuntu Linux and a Dell Precision 380 running XP Pro. The XP machine has dual 19" widescreen ViewSonics hooked to it, and I wanted to share the second monitor with the Linux box, along with the Dell keyboard and Logitech mouse.
It works perfectly to do this. I have none of the issues with image clarity/color that I had with my previous switch. The switch is heavy enough not to be moved by the cables, and the cables that come with the switch are good quality.
Previous reviewers might have mentioned that the older versions of the switch are USB 1.0, but my switch stated specifically on the box that it was USB 2.0.

Couldn't be better

Like others I looked around a good bit and even tried a cheaper model (Belkin) and I couldn't get it to work. Found this one on Amazon with all the good reviews and thought I would give it a try. I am very happy with it. I am switching between a Sony Vaio desktop and a Dell laptop (both running Windows XP). It works without a hitch. I am using a Microsoft Wireless Comfort keyboard and mouse. As others have said just make sure that your keyboard and mouse work on both computers. Installation is simple and easy. I also like the fact that all cables are coming out of the back which makes it easier to keep the desk from being cluttered with wires. (some other models have the cables coming out of both sides). Also the cables are of good quality and are both 6ft in length. With my wireless keyboard hooked up I still have two more USB ports to use for other items. Some have mentioned they didn't like the fact that it was USB 1.1. The box I got said USB 2.0 on it, but I am not sure if they have gone to USB 2.0 or not because the instructions and their web site state it is 1.1. Either way I don't have any problems with it. It you are looking for a great way to hook up two computers to one keyboard, mouse, and monitor. This is the only way to go. I highly recommend this.
