GREAT BUY!

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 7, 2003 (Deerfield, IL USA)
This monitor showed up in my Amazon Gold Box and I only bought it based on it's incredible value. I read decent reviews and figured if it isn't the best monitor in the world I can use it on one of my less frequently used computers. I have another LCD monitor (the slick silver Samsung 151P designed by F.A. Porsche) and this one compares with it quite well and costs considerably less money.

I've actually been using it as my primary monitor the last month and I've been very impressed. The brightness, contrast and clarity on it is fantastic. I've used it for many graphics-intensive apps like video and photo-editing, CAD, etc... I still can't get over the quality of this thing. I'm using it in my home with normal to dim lighting, no direct sunlight and certainly no flourescent lighting (i.e. office setting) just to be clear about my point of view. Although the screen has an anti-glare treatment so it probably does well in those conditions also.

My favorite feature is it's size. It is so small that when it arrived on my porch I was certain it couldn't have been the monitor I ordered as the box was way too small for anything like that. When I opened the external packaging and saw the Envision box I still couldn't believe it could fit into something so small and light. 5 minutes later it was mounted on the stand and plugged into my PC. This has to be the smallest LCD footprint available. You can easily mount this on a wall although I haven't tried it. It couldn't be more than 2" deep. Probably more like 1.5 inches.

If I had to fault anything it would be the on-screen controls since they're mediocre but even then I'm stretching it. My Samsung has better on-screen controls but as I see it, who really cares. My interest is in image-quality, footprint size, and cost. This ones has done well for me on all three counts.

A disappointment

(2 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Feb 1, 2003
I had high hopes for this monitor after reading other reviews, but pulled it out of the box, plugged it in, and felt a pang of disappointment. Pixels are apparently missing in the screen, making small green dots appear on the desktop that can't be removed. I was also disappointed that the viewable screen was only 12" wide and 9" tall -- not even close to the full 15" as stated in earlier reviews. I'll be returning the unit for a full refund. It's unfortunate, because the monitor itself looks great on my desk.

Beautiful Monitor

(5 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Jan 14, 2003
This little LCD not only works like a champ, it's super thin and looks great. I've had one for a month now and I've had nothing but a great experience. The picture is better than my Viewsonic at work and the price was right too. I'd have no problem recommending this to anyone looking for a 15" LCD.
