what's the point?

(1 out of 5) by Amazon Customer on Mar 4, 2004
the volume control is a dial which constantly gets moved if the player is in your backpack or pocket. my ears get blown out all the time. the automatic volume limiter system can't be used because the audio level is so low to start with. this unit is fine if it sits on your desk. want a "sports" model, then look elsewhere.

A Dream Come True!

(5 out of 5) by Larry Macri on May 16, 2003 (Kailua, HI United States)
Unbelievable! Absolutely no skipping! Awesome sound quality! A little heavy for a walkman, but worth the 'trouble'. Highly recommended and worth the price!!

Second CD Player

(5 out of 5) by Christia on Nov 4, 2003 (Maryland)
I bought this walkman and I was totally amazed at its clarity and its ruggidity compacted into one sweet looking CD Walkman.

Takes getting used to running with it..but its aight..no skipping for me so far.

This is the second time I bought a CD Player and I also have a Sanyo MP3 Player from Japan...but so far now..this SONY Sports Walkman rocks my world..

Long Term, Not So Good

(1 out of 5) by jettrink on Jul 27, 2008 (Oregon)
I've owned this player for at least four years. And, although I haven't used it for awhile --perhaps six months-- I didn't leave it plugged in and I don't use batteries. So when I plugged in in today, I fully expected it to run. It hadn't been dropped, drenched or otherwise abused, it had just been left hanging on the rail of my treadmill. And the thing won't work. It'll indicate a track for a disc, but then shut down. No sound, no anything. I was going to listen to some jazz while on the treadmill, but now I have to get a new cd player. Bummer.
