Last version before PIA activation

(5 out of 5) by Less Pain on Jan 5, 2007 (NY)
Photoshop is a really good piece of software. Only thing is - don't expect anything like reason from Adobe. EG - If you have a disk crash and must reinstall Photoshop you cannot install 7 upgrade (just supplying disk from previous version as proof of ownership). First you must completely install older version, THEN install upgrade on top. Lots more time and effort because ? - because it's the way Adobe wants it. Fortunately ther's plenty of free support around the net - all kinds of resources- tutorials, brushes, actions, fills, etc.

Fi ve Stars Adobe Photoshop 7

(5 out of 5) by Michel R. Doret on May 16, 2003 (Westbury, New York United States)
For the past 3 years, I have been using Adobe Photoshop 2- which I must say, gave me a lot of satisfaction. Very simple to use, of course, but also provides the user with rapid results. The essential functions are there and if you use them properly many aspects of writing a page are taken care of.
With Photoshop 7, new dimensions are achieved. If you already know Adobe 2.0, it is very easy to become familiar with 7.0. Also, the precision and accuracy of the various functions reach a higher level and the additional possibilities leave more flexibility to individual creativity. This powerful software is becoming for me a must in all digital works and I cannot give it less than five stars. Michel Doret

Verne REPENTS... re:pointless upgrade, 6 was better

(3 out of 5) by Verne Robinson on Apr 27, 2003 (Brooklyn, NY USA)
Ok, so I was wrong. Not the first time. After 3 months using 7 it has grown on me and now I like it. It is still "just Photoshop" so what's the big deal? But maybe the following review, written the first week I had the upgrade, was unwarrented. I'm sorry.

PREVIOUS REVIEW: I make my living with Photoshop and this 7.0 upgrade is a joke. On some machines I went back to 6.0 by uninstalling 7. This has become like 1950's car styling--only difference year to year was different fins...Adobe did this for one reason; to bring in cash--not to make a work horse product any better.

Fine Digital Enhancement Utility

(5 out of 5) by Stephen E. Franklin on Sep 16, 2002 (Bossier City, LA United States)
I used PhotoShop 6.0 briefly before upgrading to 7.01. The possibilities with 7.01 are near endless with this program for creativity. It's relatively fast and 176 MB in HD storage. Although, most of my time with PhotoShop is spent tweaking digital photos, which it does extremely well.

I highly recommend buying. First-time buyers - Once you've bought the initial version of PhotoShop, the upgrades are not as painful to purchase. Buy still a 'must have' for photo (both film and digital) professionals and enthusiasts as well as Web and graphic designers.

more than just an upgrade

(5 out of 5) by Erica Ford on Jun 22, 2002 (Seattle, WA USA)
This is more than just an upgrade. P7 is a serious improvement and will help spur marketkplace acceptance of digital cameras, because now you will be able to do edits faster.

Adobe continues to release products to market that solve real problems, faster. The integration with the other products is also nice. P7 is by far the most useful. You can do so many things with it; you won't reget getting this product.
